Good design, functions well
Overall good design and functions well. Built with metal components so it should last a long time.Improvements that could be made include making adjustments using thumbscrews or at least have same size screw/bolts for all adjustments so only 1 wrench is needed.Overall works well and for the money would purchase again.

Keep the seed hoppers level to prevent clogging and stuck wheels
Varomorus has performed well with radish seeds. At first, it did not work. The chute would clog, the seeds clump, and the wheel would drag or not spin. Operator error on my part. The green hopper needs to be level so that the seed drops straight down into the shallow furrow. If the hopper is tilted forward (you pull this seeder) then the seeds get stuck in the moisture and soil at the end of the chute. When the hopper is level (upright) the seed never comes in contact with that side of the chute and stays dry. The level hopper also solved my second problem (wheels dragging/not spinning). With the green hopper level, the wheels stay in contact with the soil (without pressing/ bending the handle) and the seeds are provided a shallow furrow (preferred) to drop into. Finally, many seeds (beets, beans, peas, etc) are too large for any of the black seed disks so you need to drill them out with a burr bit. Fill in the extra holes (there will be extra holes) with melted beeswax (not other types of wax). The seeder has a circumference of 12 inches and in my trials dropped 10 seeds (one per each hole in the black seed disc) every 12 inches. Perfect for my needs. You can also attach the handle bracket at an angle, allowing you to walk along the side of the planted bed (not on top of the bed). Pull the seeder gently, without pressing down (pressing will bend the handle bracket). Keep the screws that tighten the hopper to the metal frame "very" loose. The hoppers should "float" on the bar/axle. Loose hopper bolts will allow the wheels to spin with little resistance. Don't give up right away on this seeder. There are some great online videos demonstrating the use of this seeder. Search online for: watch?v=kOc0RDDN50c

Not at all user friendly!
I had hoped to plant my small seeds uniformly. The concept of design requires disassembling the entire product to change planter cylinders. The bolts that hold the hopper in place is difficult to hold in place while attaching to the spreader bar. It is designed to be pulled. In the q and a the seller representative said it could be set up to be pushed or pulled. I did not have success with the push set up. The planting tubes collected trash and had to be dumped way too frequently. After two or three hours of trying to plant two 70’ rows I gave up and used my two wheeled planter. I planted 18 rows in 30 minutes opposed to two rows in three frustrating hours with this product. I don’t think there is a single design feature on this product that could be employed to create a planter that would preform to the criteria that was described on their advertising. It is a total bust as a planter of small seeds. I feel like an idiot for buying such a product so poorly designed. So I returned it and will continue to use what I have.

Needs good dry soil
The core design of this works, but sadly if you are seeding in anything but sand, or screened compost/topsoil it just doesn’t save time or work. I have a heavily amended clay soil that has some clouds of clay in it. It only takes a 1” clod to jam the thing up. The main issue is, if there is any moisture or stickyness it clogs up the seed shoot at the bottom and the seed supply decreases and looks like it’s seeding but they are just piling up in the shoot. I only noticed because I had to change the seed cog. I farted around with he thing for an hour or so and made no real progress, then switched to my chapin and finished a 3’x50’ row with carrots in 5 min. Long story short if you have perfect soil go for it, anything less than perfect look elsewhere. I upped my stars after using it in better conditions, basically it’s a great solution for small seeds at a low price
