I don't know the GSM but I can say this is a very light item when wearing it but extremely warm. It heats up as soon as I put it on and seems to hold the heat. My only negative comment is that it is only shin length (I'm 5'6) and so my legs do get cold if I don't curl up.

Its not lined, its the same fabric inside. Its very soft!
