Excellent heavy duty cast iron tawa
I have used the tawa many times since I bought it to make dosa, pesarattu (green gram dosa) and uttapam and there was no sticking of the dosa to the tawa from the first dosa onwards. The oil consumption is also not much more than in a nonstick tawa. The dosas also taste better than those made on a nonstick. But special care is required1. I seasoned the tawa daily for three days with oil and then heating it with oil2. Tawa should not be washed with soap ever. Only the crumbs stuck to it should rinsed off with water after the tawa has cooled down3. It should be dried immediately after rinsing4. Only the lowest heat should be used - I use it on gas burner5. I only use a wooden spatula although metal ones can be used to avoid scraping off the smooth covering.6. It is very heavy 1.8 kg and the handle becomes very hot. So I use an oven mitt to hold while usingMeyers is the second most expensive cast iron tawa but I think it is worth it and hopefully will last long.

Top quality, heavy weight , handle problem
The quality is good but while using it the handle gets hot. The biggest problem is that the handle gets hot. There should be an option for this.

Tawa
Efficient , usable. Heats more in the centre less around the circumference.Size is quite appropriate. There is a very efficient cloth cover for the handle which is hidden in the box . It is very nice experience to open the box carefully and discover that handle cover. Picking the tawa when it is hot is not difficult because of this cloth handle. They seemed to have forgotten to mention that.

Didn't meet the expectations.
Firstly, I am using stainless steel gas stove. The reason why I am stating this is because, with SS gas stove, the heat spreads out well unlike with glass stove, the heat doesn't spread out well to protect the glass from heat damage. Secondly, I am used to making dosa in the smaller burner. I have tried cast iron tawas from brands such as Bhagya, Indus valley, dynamite, hawkins and the great Indian kitchen. Now coming to the review of Meyer 28 cm tawa: Nicely packed. The tawa is very heavy. Very sturdy. Seasoning is good. I am well used to cast iron tawa, so I had no dosa sticking to tawa issue. The tawa is too large for my usual second (smaller) burner. The edges of tawa didn't heat up well. But when I used on larger burner, the tawa did heat up well to little bigger central area. But the center still charred and the corners didn't cook well. The tawa doesn't have machine finish. That is, the surface is not smooth and it causes the oil cloth to tear up easily. And one of the most unexpected thing happened, which is after using the tawa, the burner became black. Should you buy this? Indus valley tawa performs exactly the same as this one but has smooth machine finish. In short, totally not worth spending ₹ 2500 for this performance. One more tawa is on the way of arrival. Once I test it out, I will update this review.

Meyer the brand says all.
Overall good quality product as the brand says. It’s expensive, bt I got it on a decent price during sale.health wise it is good to use than non stick products and it’s just a one time purchase as it can be used for a longer period. Just ensure after washing just preheat for a minute or so, so that there is no water content or moisture, apply any cooking oil in between so that the product remains in good condition and and even the food doesn’t stick to it if we maintain the product.I am using few Meyer products and I must say they are worth the money you spend. Just go for it.

Good cast iron tawa but mayer should give handle cover
Sharing thing review after 6 months of usage. It's good quality iron tawa but you need to be very careful with usage, don't use any metal spatula. For getting good Dosa you need to set perfect temperature. One drawback is that mayer has not given the cover for handle which they offer for some of their products. This product is 2000 Rs why don't you give leather cover. Above all, you sell it separately on your website. That's looting customers. Hence giving 3 stars.

Perfect!
Was looking for a cast iron roti tawa for sometime and once I came across this product, my search ended. After delivery, I was satisfied that I took a right decision in buying it. The tawa is very good in fit and finish. It’s quite heavy but for good reasons, it distributes the heat evenly and retains for a long period. The canvas handle cover provides a safety layer to your hands. And the best thing, it comes with a lifetime warranty. Definitely recommend product.
