Perfect for the job
The media could not be loaded. I just used it as in the video to keep the water flow low, once it gets higher tha the width of your water then the wind will blow it so the water lands over the edges, I wanted this to be able to stop the water from becomming stagnent too quick, i used cable ties in a triangle shape keeping in in the centre as with the foam underneath it floats so will drift to the edge and just spray on the floor again, so once centralised and the height set its perfect. If there is direct sunlight it comes on all the time, if it gets kind of dull it often stays on, sometimes going on and off, but over all it is on, it has a slight water running sound which is nice, the birds love it especially 2 magpies who visit it a few times a day, it looks nice and professionaly made, good quality, the solar power means you can set it up anywhere really, looks durable and adds water for the wildlife, I added stones to help the birds and insects drink and be able to get away

LOVELY WATER FEATURE THAT WORKS WELL
I bought this solar water feature to replace a really old one that had stopped working. It is a lovely water feature and it works really well. The water goes pretty high (I used the head that has lots of holes in it). It comes with changeable fountain heads so that you can change the effect of the water (one long jet, a small fountain jet, a shower jet etc). I only have one gripe really (only a small one), when using the head with multiple holes in it, the water goes so high that it was continuously splashing out of the bowl and inadvertently watering the garden! I had to top up the container with water three times in one day! I think I will have to change the head to one that doesn't splash quite so much - well, I am on a water meter! I think if you have a wider bird bath or container, then this shouldn't be an issue (I may have to get myself a wider one). What I love about it, is that it has battery back up and so even if it is cloudy, it still works. It doesn't work at night because below a certain light level, it doesn't operate. The pump also has a really handy cut-out on it, so in the event your bird bath/container runs out of water, the pump automatically stops, hence protecting the motor. I'm very pleased with the solar fountain and I could definitely recommend it.

Easiest form of solar fountain
In previous years we've had various forms of solar powered fountain pump for our birdbath but they were a separate pump and a panel at the end of a cable. Both ended up with connecting cable being damaged. Also they weren't backed by a rechargeable battery so as soon as the sun went behind a cloud the pump stopped. This unit is much better. It's all in one piece so there's no messy cables. The battery that keeps it going is great. It's also far more powerful than those other options which can be a bit wishy washy. If anything it's perhaps too efficient because it can have a habit (in a small breeze) of pumping the water so high it gets blown sideways out of the birdbath. It would help if there'd been some kind of regulator /volume control to tone it down a bit. But the sound of trickling water in the garden is always very soothing. Now there is one issue with all these solar fountains when used in a birdbath and that is that pigeons, crows, starlings, blackbirds don't only use it as a bath. To put it politely, they use it as a lavatory too. For all these pumps, that basically have the same kind of grid where the water goes in, it only takes a week or two before it begins to block because it is sucking in the "solids" that the birds leave in the birdbath. So you will have to be ready to clean things fairly regularly. Perhaps an old, unused toothbrush or something like that? A perfect design for this kind of pump would actually see the whole mechanism enclosed in a gauze metal cage so nothing can get close to the pump inlet. Maybe some manufacturer will have that idea one day?Anyway this is best of several pumps we've tried over the years so I'd highly recommend it.(oh and the birdbath we have is that very same green one they show in the demo video - one might argue that the pump is just a fraction too powerful for that size of birdbath)

Well made, powerful but lacks an inlet sponge.
3W is hugely powerful. We have to leave the attachments off as would empty birdbath on a windy day. The missing star is for the lack of removable filter which our old one had. It does wash clean OK but harder to clean and get working again. Also - it feels wrong forcing water through pump to get debris out. May shorten life? I took the sponge from old one. Will prop it against inlet. You could use a kitchen sponge for similar. Anything porous removable and inorganic will do. Silly design really.

Great Idea But it doesn't work very well
This is the second attempt at a solar fountain in a week. Initially i dismissed the idea and thought that I would fit a cable in the garden . On reflection I thought how quick and easy it would be to use this idea in a 1m x 0.6m x 0.3m deep. this is a tiny ornamental garden pond. In a south facing garden. The unit has some clever features if the pump is out of water it does not run using a conductive sensor on the bottom. This feature turned out to be an essential part to get it to work. I selected this unit as it had a higher charge capacity and 1500mAh battery built in.The unit we received was unable to charge whilst in the water. I decided to give it a fighting chance to charged up. I left it to charge for a day. I put the pump in a bowl of water and the unit across the top of the bowl( just to be safe ) in case the safe feature didn't work. ( the safety feature worked well)The unit did charge and it did work not as well as the specifications of the pictures but it was enough to create a little movement with a sprinkling fountain. The next day the pump did not work I repeated the process and it worked. The solar panel should be more than large enough to make this product work. I can only assume that this is poor manufacturing or it only works in the Kalahari Desert.I have returned the product as faulty if you buy the unit and experience the same problem don't hesitate send it back.
