A very good nosing trim that was severely let down by terrible fixing screws.
I fixed this nosing trim to a stone step to finish off some vinyl flooring some 3 weeks ago, as you may imagine, a single step, even in a domestic settiing gets its share of punishment. I used the fixings supplied even though I knew they were absolute rubbish purely because I didn't think any of the other (proper) screws I had to hand would fit into the small recesses in the rubber/plastic without distorting it.I now need to re-fit the nosing as the screws have either snapped or pulled out. To do this I will probably need to carefully re-size the holes using a countersink to try and maintain the flatness, re-size the holes in the step and fit new plugs, obtain some drywall screws or maybe decking screws as both have smaller heads, fit the nosing and it's trim, hoping the larger screws don't distort it. If they do its out with the Dremel to try and enlarge the recesses without going through.All this through being supplied with very poor quality fixings.

Don’t shorten the rubber insert
Very good quality and perfect for the job. But the rubber insert seemed to long when fitted so I trimmed it to length. However after a couple of weeks the rubber insert shrank. Not a big problem, but if you buy it, don’t trim the rubber insert right way. It may not need trimmed.

Stair nosing
This was the best priced nosing I could find and is exactly as described. Screwed onto a shed step and easily slotted in the rubber inlay. Looks neat enough and should stop damage to the wood underneath. As far as I can tell it’s a good product and fit for purpose. Comes with rawl plugs and screws.

Great product but use your own screws
The strip is great quality but I had to use my own screws as the ones provided were flimsy. Rubber strip was difficult to re insert. Overall it looks good once in place. Note when using your own screws, ensure you get flat heads otherwise the rubber strip won’t slide back on
