Great, accurate and durable
I saw this product being used on a YouTube smoking/BBQ video. It looked like a good investment since I like BBQ/Smoke. I always thought my smoker’s temperature was off a few degrees. I bought this product and used it to smoke a turkey. The temperature controls and accuracy were very easy to read. I was right my smoker temps were off. This is a very durable and easy to use product. Very versatile can be used in an oven, BBQ and smoker. A good investment!

Great tool
I love my thermometer for cooking in my Komodo Joe cooker. It is imperative to have this for those long slow cooks. It will track the internal temperature of the meat and will also track the temperature within the cooker. There are enough probes of different lengths to cook anything. There are four ports that can be used simultaneously. The data from the probes are visible on the thermometer and sent to the included remote and can be read from anywhere on my property. Each probe can have perimeters set so the remote can receive an alarm if the temperature of any of the probes goes outside the set perimeters.I strongly recommend this thermometer!

2 grill probes, 2 meat probes
I would have liked to have 3 meat probes and 1 grill probe, but the low and high temps don't really allow that. Other than that, it works great. I have 5 racks in my vertical smoker so only 2 probes means I need three of these to use all 5 racks. All four probes have the same setting buttons so this was a programming decision to do 2 and 2 verses make all 4 usable for meat with greater temperature ranges. I appreciate you can set the alarms by temperature and not by meat type and wellness as some cheaper units do. The magnets are so-so. I keep a table next to the smoker because I don't trust them.

Very good for the money
Bought as a replacement for similar older model. These are accurate, receiving range is awesome, and will last a long time.As with any temp probes of this type, try not to kink leads or make sharp bends in probe leads, especially where they enter the probes to insure longest life. I will be putting a gob of high temp RTV where leads enter probes to insure maximum life from temp probes.

remote theremoters work long distance
Purchased because my older remote thermometer did not have enough range due to the construction (metal lath embedded in plaster. This unit works well, occasionally losing connectivity, but hooks right back up. does what I need and allows me to moniter the BBQ temp as well.

Not as robust as it should be
First -- I like this thermometer enough that I'm buying a 2nd unit despite the 3 star rating. Take that for what you will.Disappointments:1) Sometimes some of the ports didn't work. But for what I do, I got away with only needing 1-2 ports most of the time. This would be a deal breaker for someone who needs 4 dependable ports.2) I don't use it frequently enough to know how to set the temperature alarms, so I have to reteach myself every time. This means the UI is not that intuitive.3) Base unit died after 3 years of light use. It may have died from a freak fall to the ground, but when you hold it in your hand, it feels really robust. So I'm surprised and disappointed. Opened it up, and there was no visible, physical problem with any of the components. Why I'm buying it again:--The wireless receiver is the deal maker. I like it a lot. It has a lot of range -- like across the street at a neighbor's. Not having to run outside to know how the meat is doing when it's triple digits outside is a big win. And of course, it has the alarm feature.--On both the base unit and receiver, the numbers are large and easy to see at a distance.--I'm crossing my fingers that this next one will be more robust.--I think it's pricey for being not as robust as I was hoping, but it seemed like I'd need to go to one hundred dollars plus to get something better.

I wish I'd had one sooner
This looks like one of those things nobody needs, but once I got mine I wondered why I ever thought that. For long cooks / smoking this is an amazing tool. Allowing me to keep an eye on the cooking of two different pieces of meat while I'm watching the temperature of the fire is very helpful.Being able to do that while I'm somewhere else doing something else changes things in the same way as having a cordless telephone instead of having to stand in the hallway at the "alcove" to have a conversation (Younger people, ask your grandparents...or maybe great grandparents, about telephone alcoves and cordless phones - not cell phones). As I'm sure you've read, you can set an upper and lower temperature on each of four probes and if the temperature varies outside of those settings the unit will alarm. Loudly. The magnets on the back come in handy for me.All in all I couldn't be happier with it. All it doesn't do are things it isn't supposed to do. Buy one.
