Let's you see and adjust the pressure
Since there are a lot of variances in the water pressure at campgrounds, this regulator let's you see the pressure and adjust it to my needs. Seems well built, but had a cheap rubber seal that leaked and needed to be replaced. Other than that it seems like a good solid unit.

Failed in less than a year.
Unit probably has 5 camping trips on it and the gauge is stuck at 80. I've never had the pressure that high of at it that high. I expected it to last longer than this.

Drip Irrigation
My cheap plastic pressure regulator in my drop irrigation system always made a high pitched whistling noise. It rang throughout my house as the sound was carried along the water pipes. The problem was the pressure going into the cheap plastic regulator was too high. It operated properly but there was no way to remove the sound. This was a drop in replacement. It was even close to the same length as the original so very easy to install with the existing lines. The system is now completely silent. If you're going to use this in a drop irrigation system remember to turn the regulator way down before you install it or the 40 pounds it's set at the factory at will blow your system apart.Just back the screw counter clockwise till it's a bit loose. That's beyond the bottom, near zero pressure. After it's installed in the system and the water is running raise the pressure to about 25 pounds.
