This is the real deal, the same as what my mom used to get from the Korean markets. The key to eating them is to roast them lightly over the open flame of a gas stove until it gets golden and soft and maybe a little burnt around th edges, kind of like you would with marshmallows. Then, you cut them into strips or little pieces and they make a good snack, either alone or as something to fill your stomach while you drink alcohol. It's dried fish, so there is a slight fishy smell if you put it to your nose, but it has a sweet taste that makes it easy to eat. Your jaw might hurt from all the chewing, though.

Perfect late night snack for me. It is best when lightly toasted / roasted.

Giving only 3 stars bc the ingredients are misleading. This has sugar/seasonings in it. There’s no way it was only filefish. I grew up eating this. I specifically ordered this product bc I can’t have any sugar, additives, etc. I have inflammation and I flare when I have anything sweet. I hope they can fix it.

This is the real deal! I'd usually have to drive up to Chicago from Indianapolis to find jwipo, and each package has been lighter than the one I got in the mail. The price seems fairly reasonable... about comparable to what I'd pay for the same amount at a brick and mortar store, but with the advantage of saving a 6 hour round trip drive! I'm very happy with the purchase, and will definitely buy more in the future.

I noticed that the reviews included other products like cuttlefish. It may be that the cuttlefish is good. However, filefish is not the same as a cuttlefish. The filefish in this product is an acquired taste. The smell is extremely strong and prevented me from trying it.

Product is available and delivery has been on time for each order, We like to make warm before eating so very briefly toast on the stove, cut into pieces and enjoy, we have bought three times before, overall very good

I bought and paid for the 1lb size. I got 8oz with a little "1lb" sticker over the part of the label that gave the actual weight.Delicious enough to get two stars anyhow, but caveat emptor!
