4K HDR HDMI Switch, Koopman 5 Ports 4K 60Hz HDMI 2.0 Switcher Selector with IR Remote, Supports Ultra HD Dolby Vision, High Speed (Max to 18.5Gbps), HDR10, HDCP 2.2 & 3D

Honestly, I didn't think this would last as long but here it is nearing two years after I purchased this selector box. I have 5 consoles attached to this thing and none of them have given me any problems with auto select. Audio has been fine and so has the picture as I have older consoles like the PS3, Xbox 360 and previous gen systems with upscalers. No noticeable lag between audio and picture at all. The box is small enough to use Velcro tape and slap behind your TV or to mount someplace else. Only issue you will have is cable management with multiple HDMI cords coming out of 3 sides. The power is though USB with the port on the side as well. Overall, this box has been a blessing but seeing as I now have an arc set-up now I may have to upgrade but as an entry level switch box it does a great job.

I bought these so that I could switch between my gaming consoles and my fire stick. One of the main problems I have been having is with the fire stick losing sound and I would have to reboot it everytime I turned on the tv. With this product I don't have to do that anymore. It is also great the smart sensing of which input is being used and it will automatically switch to that input.The only con is the remote and I have not had luck with the remote always switching the input because it has to be in direct view and not very far away from the hdmi switcher.

I’ve been using my Koopman 5-port HDMI switch for a few weeks now, and while I haven’t been able to test the HDR capabilities that is advertised, I have been able to test it with numerous 4K (SDR), 1080p, and even 720p devices and it seems to work as advertised, albeit without automatic signal detection.I have noticed no noticeable degradation in picture or audio quality while using this switcher, running on the following test devices:- An Xbox One X (4K SDR)- Apple TV (1080p)- SNES Classic Mini (720p)- Sega Genesis Mini (720p)- PlayStation Classic (720p)Ideally, I would like the switcher to be able to detect the most recently powered on device, however this does not seem to have that ability, or if it does it doesn’t function properly; it requires me to use the manually switch to my desired input. The Koopman switch does come with a remote to make this easier, however I found the remote to be flimsy and of poor quality, and I do not have much faith that it will work without breaking for very long. Alternatively, you could also get up and manually switch to your desired input.The Koopman 5-port HDMI switch is powered by micro-USB, which in 2020 I would consider to be a downside. These days there is an expectation that these sorts of devices be powered by USB-C, and I would hope that the next iteration of this product would make that switch. In an ideal world, this product could also support accepting USB-C as not only a source of power, but also as a video input; it would have been nice to plug my MacBook Pro with USB-C into the switcher directly without having to rely on an adapter.Another potential issue is one that other reviews have touched upon - this switch does indeed run hot. Not hot enough that it greatly concerns me or that I feel its unsafe to be plugged into my TV, but certainly warmer than I would have expected a simple HDMI switch to run. I would highly recommend against putting this someplace without proper ventilation, or I do think you would risk potentially damaging the switch or the devices plugged into it.All of that said, you do get a very capable 4K HDMI switch for a rather low price, so I can forgive some of these issues and omissions. All in all, I would recommend this Koopman 4K HDMI switch to anyone looking to expand their TV’s 4K HDMI ports at a low price, as long as they aren’t expecting too much more than basic functionality.(Please note, I was offered this product at a discount in exchange for writing this critical review by the manufacturer. I received this HDMI switch to test and give it an honest review. And I must say it is a pretty solid device. I have another HDMI switch but this one is a bit better for a few reasons.First off it does actually have 5 inputs instead of 4 which is a plus. There are some companies that advertise 5 ports and it’s actually only 4 input ports and 1 output port.The design itself is nice for the most part. It’s flat on the bottom so it doesn’t wobble when placed on a flat surface.But back to the ports. While they work fine my only complaint about them (and the device itself) is the placement of the input port. Unlike most devices it is on the side of the device instead of the back which is a little bit annoying.The interface is nice as well. There are red lights that show you that the device is connected and which port is active. The device does have an auto switching feature which is pretty seamless and a button on the front for manual switching. The included remote also allows you to switch to a specific input rather than cycling which is a nice touch as well. From my tests it took roughly 4.5-5 seconds to switch between inputs and show an image on screen.As for the picture quality it is very good. A lot of the devices I have are not 4k so I tested them first. Solid picture quality with no noticeable drop off easily doing 1080p @ 120hz. To test the 4k ability I used an Xbox One X. I had no problems running Call of Duty Modern Warfare in 4k @ 60hz and 1440k @ 120hz.So should you buy it? I would say yes if you need an HDMI switch. It has a low cost and functions just as well as any other brand if not better.
