Never played a mandolin before
It arrived in perfect condition. It looks beautiful and after tuning it, it sounds spectacular. I can hear the resonance on the top. But remember I am new to this. Have not plugged it in cause I don't have an amp, yet. And I promised myself "No amp till I know 5 songs." Will update as I learn mre.

Very good for the price.
I purchased this mandolin about 6 months ago and I've been very impressed with the quality and sound considering the price. It sounds especially good plugged in. If you're on the fence and just need solid mandolin on the cheap, I'd recommend it. It is probably worth about double the price IMO.

Irish approved!
I bought this mandolin to play trad music it is very nice sounding when you first get slide the foam from underneath the bridge because if you don’t it may have a rattling sound but after you do that and get the beige nicely set it sounds Awsome wonderful mandolin to bring into the pub school work etc it also has an electric amp outlet so you can use it with an amp but personally I like to play it without great for beginners or pro.

Nice usable instrument once setup.
I have been wanting to expand my instrument collection for some time now. My band has decided to included some tunes that have mandolin in them, so now seems like a good time. I choose Ibanez M510EOVS because I needed an electrified mandolin and of the brands I recognized, Ibanez is the brand that I had the least worries about quality. The instrument itself is solidly constructed. The finish looks good with no flaws and there are no gaps in the binding. The spruce top is very resonant and the fret edges are dressed well on this mandolin. The volume and tone controls are effective through their ranges, although the output volume is not as high as I expected. This may be due to pickup height, which I have not adjusted. That said, the output is very usable. At this time, the only detractor is the tuners. Although they seem to hold, there is enough play in the mechanisms that makes it "fidigity" to tune the instrument . Mine did not require a truss rod adjustment, however the bridge need to be moved back significantly (after removing the foam piece under it) to facilitate setting the intonation. This models scale length is closer to 14-1/8" (360mm) and not what is listed in the specs. Overall, it took some setup time (about an hour) to get it tuned due to the tuners and string stretch, and to correct the intonation due to initial placement and having to minutely move the bridge back and forth to get the best compromise once placement was corrected. It was worth it in the end as this one plays well and sounds good both acoustically and electrified. My 4 stars is based on the tuners.

Great value and quality craftsmanship
For the money this instrument has great tone. The pickup doesn’t alter the instrument’s tone.

Surprised by poor quality
I was surprised by the poor quality of this instrument. Cheap strings cheap construction. If you have a lot of time to work this instrument....maybe ??? I waited too long for the return otherwise????
