Works beautifully until it doesn’t.
I have a 25-gallon container pond with a couple of goldfish. I needed a small filter/pump system and this looked perfect. It was easy to install and kept the pond beautifully clean for about a month. Then it died. I was past the Amazon return date, so contacted the company. After a brief conversation to determine that I wasn’t an idiot, they sent me a replacement. A week later and I’m back in business. The company is great, and I’m hoping the first filter was just a dud.Update: It's been about 8 months and the new pump is still working perfectly so I'm upping the stars. What a great product. It keeps the water crystal clear, is quiet, and is powerful enough to power my little waterfall. The only complaint I have is that it's hard to clean the carbon filter; you have to take it apart and it seems like it would be easy to break the casing. Luckily I only have to do that every 3 months. The foam filter, which needs cleaning more often, is super easy to access. Overall, very happy with this and would buy again.

Excellent little filter and oxygenator
The media could not be loaded. I have i it set up in my tub pond in the garden and it performs exceptionally well, keeping the water clean for 7 goldfish in temperatures currently in the high 90s. The goldfish love the waterfall effect and constantly swim through the pouring water. It does need to be cleaned every 2 days or so, but it's an easy task since the motor is a sealed unit, so you only have to disassemble the pipes and sponge to give them a thorough cleaning, which only takes a few minutes.

Short lived
I purchased this on June 1st and today, July 8th, it quit working. It worked great while it was working. It’s too late to return the item.

Consider this for your fish tank
I originally bought this for a container water garden idea I had but that didn't work out. Instead, I put it in a 10 gallon heavily planted aquarium and I gotta say I'm pleased with it. It's strong and completely silent. Compared to similar submersible filters marketed for aquariums, I'd say this is more bang for your buck. The internal sponge filter is large and works well. There is a little cup with some sort of carbon pellets in it but that's easily replaced with some other sort of media if you want. I bought a Dennerle internal filter for more money and it sucks compared to this filter. The water flow is strong. It wouldn't be good for a still water betta tank or something, but it's great for a planted tank with snails and river fish that like strong water current.

Affordable pond filter option
The media could not be loaded. I set up a micro pond in a potting container and the water was getting murky with the two goldfish in it. So I added barley straw and this pump filter which helped a lot and aerates the water for the fish. The flow is a little too strong for a small container but it’s ok for now. Only complaint is that because I have a container with a curved edge, the suction cups don’t work really well so it slips down a lot. I’ve cleaned it once so far and seemed super easy. Just pop it open and clean off the sponge. I’ve had it about 3-4 weeks now so hopefully it will last a while. I do have to turn it off to feed the fish, otherwise their food stinks right away.

pump works fine, just very delicate and not easy to take ...
I have 5 of these and the plastic on the top joint that separates the parts for cleaning have broken,I tried being gentle with it,but the plastic cracks at the top seam.pump works fine, just very delicate and not easy to take apart for cleaning without issues.....

Nifty Little Pump/Filter
So far, so good. We have a very small pond (25 gallons), and this is plenty of pumping and filtering for it. It’s also quiet. The loudest sound it makes is that of the water splitting from it, which at least to my ears, completely masks the sound of the pump motor. Time will tell as to its longevity, but for now — recommended.

Wonderful Little Pond Filter/Pump
This is the 3rd small pump I purchased for my 1/2 whiskey barrel fishpond - and it's the perfect one! The first was solar and it didn't work on rainy/cloudy days; the second was a stronger solar one that still didn't work well on cloudy days; but this electric pump is wonderful and my little fish friends love it too! It's not too strong so not spewing water over the edge causing for constant level checks; and it provides enough aeration and excellent filtration of the water. I am very happy with it, and come next spring, I will build another little fishpond and will purchase another one of these little pumps. I highly recommend this pump for small (50 gal +/-) fishpond.
