Original Amaz247 Roku Remote Works with All Roku Player (Any Box Shape of ROKU) (Roku 1/2/3/4, HD/LT/XS/XD), Express/Premiere/Ultra; NOT for Roku TV or Roku Stick

We have the Roku Ultra and our Roku remote quit working after a year. Roku wants like $40 for a replacement which is ridiculous. We purchased the yellow replacement remote and it works great. The buttons are the same as in the picture (not the description). I read a lot of negative reviews on this remote and I don’t understand why? This is an IR remote and require line of sight. It works great for us from 8 feet away. Love the bright yellow and the wrist strap. It does not have an earphone jack or TV volume control but that is not really an issue as we can just use the Roku app on our phones or iPads when we need to use headphones. The Roku app on yeh iPhone really drained our battery fast and was a major contributor to deciding to order this replacement remote. We’re very happy we did.

Ok, the reason why I am saying I love this product. Is because1. I needed a remote for my ROKU2. It's in BIG BIRD YELLOW which makes life MUCH easier being that I have black carpet (and every remote is black smh)3. This one takes AAA batteries, that may not mean anything to anyone, but hey.Ok, this device is LIGHT, LIGHT weight, I wasn't thrilled with ALLLLL of the quick app buttons on the bottom, but, nor was I thrilled about NOT BEING ABLE TO NOT watch my ROKU. I am not having any problems with the remote distance wise. Its for a bedroom t.v. Point and click right ? Now, the manufacture remote that came with my ROKU had an ear phone feature that I thought was cool. It would keep you from disturbing anyone and it was high quality...with THAT SAID, my MANUFACTURE remote, burned out...and I am here on Amazon writing a review for anotherone.So to wrap this up. need a new ROKU remote ? Get this one. No earbud jack, but it works and you can't loose is ...lol....trust me, I tried, I found it all 5 times lol.

I gave this 3 stars because the Netflix button takes me to the home screen and the Sling button takes me to Netflix. None of the buttons take me to Sling. I have to navigate back to the home screen to do so. Also, the remote must be pointed directly at the Roku device to work (not like the original). Lastly, the package had dirty bits of who knows what inside and the back of the remote has a black dirt mark scratched on it. Other than that, the remote works and serves its purpose. The good thing is the remote was delivered within two business days, and they were very prompt about fixing the address error that was made on my part.

My original remote past away. I have ordered a new one, but not working well. So, I found this model…very surprised. Very happy and I love the color.

This is one of those that Amazon should have either zero (0) stars, or even negative stars. My stupidity though .... I believed the "high" number of ratings (assumed purchases) and ignored the one star reviews that spoke of the utter lack of workability of this remote unless you are VERY close to the ROKU unit.Make that literally 12" or closer to make it work and even then it was sporadic. WHY does Amazon sell this? The world wants to know! It is also interesting that it appears most of these "knock-offs" use 2 AAA batteries vs the "normal" 2 AA batteries that the REAL ROKU remote uses. Don't know all the ins and outs of electronics, but betting this indeed has something to do with not near as much "signal" being transmitted to the ROKU unit.Bottom Line .... believe the 1 star reviews.Oh yes, one positive ...... the yellow one was pretty and WOULD have been easier to find!!!

Works decently for roku 3 model 4200. Other reviews are accurate that this remote has to be angled 'just right and directly at the box' but for the price it does work well. I am several feet away from my roku box and it does work well with distance... no lagging time and ease of use are wonderful!!! I like the channel options on this remote. It's useful for our family as we use sling, amazon, Netflix and so forth jusr not all at the same time lol. Its nice to simply have a button to click instead of having to do the 'go to roku home screen, click on sling/netflix, let it load...' makes a few less steps. The vibrant yellow is nice as it's easy to find this remote even under furniture. We have black furniture and dark wood... so the original remote somehow got lost among it all... and may have even been tossed out. Who knows. I was worried about this purchase as the ratings were not what I'd like to see when making an online decision. But in all honesty, I am writing this review so I can offer some idea of what to expect. Was it worth buying... yes. Would I buy again... yes. Is this good for those who like to game with roku... no. Is it easy for those who are technologically 'behind'... yes. (Tech and I hate each other so no offense to you... but no setup needed, worked after I put batteries in.) Is this good for kids... the yellow one, yes. Black... I'd say not likely as it will likely get mixed with toys and vanish into the depths of toys, behind beds and so forth. Hope this info helps. :)
