I have already recommended this guide to a friend and will recommend it to others. 10 Other Real Estate Investments You Could Do is an excellent overview of alternative real estate investments. Mr. Lantrip gives enough essential considerations of each investment type for you to decide if you want to dig further or pass on a different investment. I like that he gives credit to other authors who have produced more exhaustive work on certain topics for the reader’s benefit. That is a great quality and adds to the credibility of his book.10 Other Real Estate Investments You Could Do is a primer on a variety of real estate investments that I’ve been curious about but needed a bit more information to consider. The author tells you the level of subject matter, business and legal expertise, the investor needs for each investment type. I appreciate that he does not gloss over the preparation, investment of time and amount of capital needed to be successful with each investment category.Chapter 6, Section 121 Investing, is a succinct explanation with an example of how one can amass wealth in real estate simply while benefiting from a provision of the tax code. I’m already on this track but did not realize the great position I’m in until reading this book.I particularly found Chapter 11 Charging Orders useful. He explains the protections a charging order provides and how different states treat LLC entities. The reader can make an informed decision about which business entity to create for the real estate investment activity and how and where to establish it for protection of assets should a Charging Order be issued.Mr. Lantrip’s book is a great reference tool that I’m happy to have stumbled upon. I recommend it for the aspiring real estate investor, the rookie and the seasoned investor that is considering expanding to a different investment type

Great information and details
I looked up the author, Michael Lantrip, after hearing a very positive review about one of his books from a real estate investor meet up. My investor friend was mentioning his real estate calculations book, but instead of purchasing that one (as I already know a lot about calculations)..... Lantrip's "10 other RE investments...." book caught my attention because I have done section 121, notes and private lending, 3 of the 10 investments mentioned. I purchased it thinking I could gain more knowledge about these 3 subjects I've already invested in, plus interested to hear the author's perspective on the other subjects. I loved Lantrip's detailed style and how each chapter representing the investing types offers the same outline of information, applied differently. Very organized and great information- I learned a lot and highly recommend for anyone getting started or seasoned investors wanting information about other types of real estate investing.

Good Book
I think this was good, I didn't think it was anything new or insightful but added some ideas to my head and an easy casual read.

it was like taking a complete. I appreciate all the information, and arrows, pointing to where to do additional due diligence,. Michael gave an in-depth overview of all 10 investment possibilities for someone trying to become an investor. Thank you.!

Wonderful advice!
Michael Lantrip is amazing!! I received this book and started reading. Within a few minutes of starting the book, getting to page 11, being adviced to define Charging Orders in Chapter 11 before going forward and jumping to Chapter 11, I understood I had the incorrect legal entity (LLC) for the state I was in.I realized I was exposed to great risk without the protection to my personal assets that I owned separate from the LLC. The entire purpose for a LLC is to protect your personal assets in case of error or litigation from tenants. Different states treat LLC differently, I am in a poorly legally supported state as far as LLCs are concerned.With purchase of second book of Choosing the correct Entity (by Michael Lantrip ) before starting, I will get this risk off the table for me & my family.Thank you Michael for such sage advice and sharing your knowledge!!

well written and very clear
This is great book to expand your mind on different paths of real estate investing. The author is very articulate and to the point. No fluff. All meat. Would highly recommend.

Interesting but seems dated
Good information, but too limited and generalized. Author knows what he’s talking about and is informative. I would have preferred more original thinking toward these investments.

Just completed a $10M exchange with the help of Michael’s 1031 books. They were very helpful, and I have left individual reviews on them. This transaction has relieved me of my day to day real estate operations. His 1031 books and my extra time now available motivated me to buy his latest book ’10 Other Real Estate Investments You Could Do.' It is very energizing and insightful. It got me thinking outside of my box. Very optimistic that I will try one or more of the techniques. I will update this review in the future. Happy & educational reading to you.
