Utilized in my generator shed to provide adequate ventilation to preclude CO sensor shut-down of our emergency inverter generator.

My SIL installed one 12-inch vent in a low corner, and on the other side the vent is in the opposite upper corner, to facilitate air circulation. Was a quick and easy process. (A local big box store didn’t have vents with screens, but these screened vents were perfect.)

The hole needs to be cut as small as possible because the mounting screw holes in the outer flange are so close to the body of the vent. Still need to angle screws out a bit to get a good bite. Using flat-head screws help with this. A wider flange would help. That said, the end result is good.Louvers are thin so there is minimal flow restriction compared to wood or most plastic vents.Appears to be powder coated paint - which is nice - but I'm not sure house paint would stick. If white is OK that's not a problem. If you want to paint it, you probably should de-gloss with fine sandpaper and spray-paint.

I installed 2 of these vents on the north side of the house to cool my attic which has no real ventalation. On the south side I am installing a louvered 16 inch fan to draw out the hot air. The vents were to allow the fan to draw out of the attic so it wouldn't draw from inside the house. It was difficult to be near the vents due to the heat coming out. I haven't installed the fan yet but these have dropped the temp 20 degrees. And they look nice. They do not come with screws so I bought #8 stainless screws. You will have to open the mount holes a little to accomodate the #8 size. UPDATE== I HAVE THE FAN INSTALLED AND THE ATTIC IS AT 105 DEGREES WHILE THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS 100.

These vents worked great and have proven worthy so far. My built in fridge kept giving me an error code due to overheating, so I installed one fan behind the fridge and one on the other side in the hallway to help dissipate the warm air. So far so good!

We needed passive ventilation in our attic...it gets HOT in Orlando! There is a gable vent in the back of the house, but the previous owner removed and stuccoed over the original vent. So I cut out a 14" x 14" hole and the vent fit like it was meant to be there. A little silicone sealant on the inside and outside and bada bing...easy peasy!
