Well constructed with a professional look
This microphone mount is well constructed and looks really good on my camera. Definitely worth it!

Great little option for mounting my shotgun mic (Rode NTG-1)
I use this camera for self-filming hunts and needed a better solution to mounting my shotgun mic. I was using a Rode SM3-R mounted to the hot shoe on my camera, but it never seemed to stay tight, and the shock mounts ended up breaking halfway through the season. I actually ended up removing the cold shoe adapter from the SmallRig mic holder, reused the mounting bar for the Rode SM3-R, and mounted the SmallRig mic holder straight to the SM3-R bar. It sits nice and tight to the camera, the SM3-R bar pulls the mic back about 4 inches out of the camera view, and it all fits really snug now. Definitely recommend this mic holder as well as SmallRig accessories (I also use their fluid head)

Did it hold microphone safely, even with large dead cat wind reducer.
I have been a big fan of Smallrig products, this mic holder did not disappoint, well made, held microphone nicely with a nice rubber lining. There is strength to hold the dead cat wind screen nicely. This product will also hold larger mics. Great product to add to my gadget box.

Absolutely Perfect!
I’ve been the cheap plastic mic holders for awhile. With even the slightest bump, they either break or allow the mic to fly off the mount. This cold shoe mic mount it QUALITY and should be the last one I have to buy.The mount is made of aluminum, adjusts to fit different size mics, mounts to the camera securely (again with a metal ring), and is a matte black to blend in. It’s pricey, but looking back on how many plastic ones I’ve purchased over the years, I’ll save in the long run.The item comes nicely packaged is shipped quickly and returns are free. Small Rig has a variety of similar camera add ons and I recommend you check them out if you’re tired of cheap gear that breaks.

Junk
Baffled by the terrible design flaw. Quality is high, but the soft mount design needs to be rotated 90 degrees. As noted in other reviews, the microphone has massive droop unless perfectly balanced. As far as I'm concerned, this is junk and I'll be returning it.

Its okay
It's great to put your microphone in it but it bounces back and forth, I don't know if it's supposed to do that or what

A good replacement for stock mic shockmounts
Another quality product from SmallRig. I got this to replace the in-the-box microphone shockmount from Deity for the D3 Pro shotgun microphone. Unlike the original mount, this one from SmallRig is compact, mostly metal (it has rubber isolation rings to dampen movement), and it fits into a cold shoe easily. This is a much more slimline setup than I had before which makes it easier to pack and travel with.I was worried that with only a single hold on the mic that this SmallRig mount might transfer more unwanted noises to the recording... but I have not found that to be the case. Everything works as before, with no bumps or wiggles of the camera making their way into the final audio mix. Just slide this thing into an open cold shoe, tighten down the ring, plug in the microphone cable and you are done. The only places I could see some improvement would be: make the clamp area a bit more narrow to avoid putting pressure on mic buttons located in the area, and adding a 1/4" - 20 screw option to the bottom of the cold shoe mount to allow for more mounting options.I'm glad I picked this SmallRig mic clamp up and it is now in my go-to bag for future recordings.

Nice and sturdy!
Love this thing! Bought a shotgun mic for my phone and it came with this cheap plastic holder that would bend under the weight of the mic and wind fury. This holder has no problem keeping my mic in place.
