How far does the clamp extend into the desk? I have a metal frame underneath and want to know if it will be able to cover it fully for support

It extends underneath 2 inches (and about 3 1/2 inches on top).

At maximum height, mine is 10" off the desk, but that's going to depend on the size of your monitor. Mine are 27". Yes, it supports positioning the monitors vertically.

How deep of a lip does the desk need to have to mount with the C clamp? I cannot drill through this desk.

How deep of a lip does the desk need? I'm using an Arozzi gaming desk, which is just shy of 1". The clamp is U shaped and the tightening bolt is about 3" in length. It will tighten down on a desk as thin as 1/4".

You wont be able to stack monitors like that with these arms. You would have to mount one arm in a higher position than the other arm
