Great Fountain Pen
I recently got into the world of machined pens. I really like them, especially machined fountain pens. So, I'm starting a modest pen collection and I ran across this one and it piqued my interest because:1) its brass, and I like the heavier weighted pens2) it has a nice black finish with a black nib, and I think the blacked out look is really cool3) its relatively cheap for a brass fountain penNow, due to price I wasn't expecting much, but I got it anyways because of the 3 points above, and I figure at the very least I can use this pen to try out different ink colors and use my other more expensive pens for writing & drawing.I've played with this pen for a couple weeks now, and I am quite surprised at how good it is and how well it compares to some more expensive fountain pens I have in my collection.First off, the black finish on the brass body is nice. So far it has been pretty durable, though I've been pretty careful with it and store it in a pen holder when not in use. The finish on the polished black nib is also very nice. The knurled texture on the cap and body are really nice for grip, but not so aggressive that it is harsh or uncomfortable to use or hold. The cap can be posted on the back of the pen via threads, which I really like. This is my preferred way of posting the cap on a pen. The threading (and machining overall) on this pen is pretty good, but not great. Taking the price point into consideration though, its VERY good. The biggest surprise and one of the best features of this pen is the nib. As stated before, it has a polished black finish and looks fantastic. It has an Extra Fine tip, and it started out alittle scratchy, but has smoothed out really well and did so pretty quickly. The lines are very fine and precise, but also very smooth. It is very nice to write with and is way better than the Extra Fine Moonman nib that came with my Bastion Premium Fountain Pen. It is comparable, and maybe slightly better (at this point) that the Extra Fine Jowo #6 nib that came with my Schon DSGN Pocket Six fountain pen, though I'm still breaking in that nib. Anyways, its pretty impressive to me that an inexpensive Chinese nib compares so favorably to a nice full size German nib.Overall, this pen is great and a fantastic value. This fountain pen and nib are made in china, and while I normally avoid cheap chinese made products whenever I can, this is NOT cheap junk usually associated with "made in China". I would buy this pen again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good, all metal, inexpensive fountain pen.

A very good value for the money
This pen was purchased for an employee of mine, so he will be writing this review."I am very pleased with this pen. Within the grand scheme of fountain pens, I consider myself a novice. I started with a Zebra V-301 as an impulse buy on a trip to Walgreens, just to try a fountain pen out. My first one I was pleased well enough with. That pen, unfortunately, ended up being lost to the ages. No idea where it went or if someone took it and never brought it back, but it was gone, baby, gone. I purchased another, and it was not a pleasant experience. It ran incredibly dry, skipped like crazy, it simply wouldn't feed ink properly, even after following various instructions online on how to maintenance a fountain pen. A third was purchased, and it was somewhere between the two. I found that lack of consistency to be untenable, as well as the shocking lack of availability of Zebra ink cartridges! I couldn't find them in any brick and mortar store to save my life, short of purchasing another pen. Nuts to that. One day I went into a MUJI store and discovered their aluminum fountain pen. Absolute night and day difference from the Zebra. It wrote well, a little on the wet side for my taste, but that may simply be the paper I tend to write on. The nib was scratchy, but in a nice, scribe sort of way. Pleasant to the ear. And also pleasant to the eye, I really enjoy the minimalist, straight body. I've never been a fan of fountain pen designs that bulge in the middle and taper at the ends, I like a nice, straight body, and this delivered. But I found the small cartridges frustratingly short in lifespan. I have to change the cartridges far too often for my taste, and I have yet to find a single converter that actually fits the thing. There is a small tab of metal inside it that seems to interfere with the international standard converters I've tried to use with it, preventing them from locking into place at all.THAT is where this pen comes in. I had the boss add this pen onto one of the company orders. I should specify, since this listing features multiple pens and the reviews all blend together, that this is the Delike Element brass pen with the bent EF nib. I liked the straight, simple body of raw brass. I'm not one to like the patina brass takes on, so I may end up obsessively polishing this pen over time, but for right now it is gorgeous. And who knows? I might find the way this will age to be pleasing. Time shall tell. But for now, it gleams, it has a very pleasant weight, it fits nicely in my rather large hands (even without posting the cap), and it simply feels nice in my hand. I was also rather struck with Colin S. Martin's review, which is a major factor in why I took the plunge on this model (though he was reviewing the Alpha, I was inclined to believe that the Element would have similar characteristics). The pen arrived very well packaged. Like, extremely well. The bubble-wrap was form-fit to the tin to a factory degree. I'm quite impressed. Definitely not worried about it being damaged in transport unless someone actually went out of their way to try. The tin it comes in is...a tin. It's not particularly fancy, certainly nothing executive about its appearance, but it gets the job done. The pen itself was nestled into a dense foam insert form-cut to hold the pen snugly. It presents very nicely in that regard. As for performance...all I can say is that I am blown away. I've paired this pen with MonteVerde midnight black ink, for reference. Between the Zebra and the MUJI, I had come to expect that fountain pens scratch while you write. This pen, be it by its own design, the ink I'm using, or a combination of both, just glides across the paper like Fred Astaire across the screen. There are intermittent scratches, depending on the angle I'm holding the pen at, but for the most part it just slides along. The bent, pseudo-fude nib produces very nice lines on all axes at normal writing speeds, though I do experience a little bit of skipping during signatures. Well within what I consider acceptable performance for a daily driver. My one significant gripe in particular is the difficulty I had in filling it. The converter seals to the pen with a silicone seal that seems to hold quite well, but I could not get it to draw ink up through the nib to save my life. Perhaps it was simply too dry, I don't know. I ended up having to remove the converter and fill it directly from the ink bottle. This worked perfectly well and with minimal mess, and I installed it into the pen and slowly pushed the ink through until it dripped a few drops from the nib. After this, ink flowed just fine, though it was still hesitant to pull ink in through the nib properly, despite following every set of instructions I could find on the internet. Eventually I managed to pull ink without pulling too much air at first, so it may have simply been a matter of break-in.All in all, I am very satisfied, and would readily purchase this pen again. Fantastic experience.
