Weaver’s Beef Sticks (80 original mild flavored 7” beef sticks per 40oz bag)

These things are great. They have the same snap of old-school Slim Jims with a healthy hit of spiciness and smoke flavor. Yes, they aren't a stick of recognizable beef and they are certainly heavily processed - but I don't care. They taste great and are a good value for what you get. I'm super happy I found these and have reordered them multiple times. I'll keep ordering them as long as I can get them. Five stars if you like that old school flavor and texture. If you are looking for a fat free flavorless "jerky" then this probably isn't for you. ;)

With the upmost respect to half of the reviews. I really like these beef sticks and I think this is a beef stick for only specific tastes.I never really enjoyed those gas station pit stop jerky; too sweet, too oily, or just plan chemical tasting - just not my thing.My best description of these beef sticks is a non-oily Slim Jim jerky (before they change the recipe. Remember those old Macho Man Randy Savage commercials? Those beef sticks, with less greasy oil and a kick of spice.Like I said before; it isn't for everyone. It has a chew to it (meaning you will need to use your jaw muscle a few times, but it isn't like hardtack), has a nice meaty bold flavor, and if you like spice (like me) it has a nice burn of spice that will linger for a few seconds.I buy these monthly when I can remember to restock as these are great for my Keto diet as I snack on these while I work.I think they have a sample pack, so for those who will to try them out, get a pack of those and see if those are for you. I really like them, but I also like red heads so to each their own ;)

These bad boys are great. Perfect taste, texture and spice. Used to buy the “Well Known Brand” but they became too expensive, lacked consistency and hard to get. I’ve tried other types in the past that were mushy, funky and frankly awful. These won’t let you down- WARNING- You can’t stop eating them, very addicting lol

Based on flavor alone these beef sticks are very tasty and I would have a higher star rating. But I lowered the rating 1 star due to the fact that the casing is quite hard to chew and almost has to be removed to enjoy the beef stick. And also even with the casing removed and if you chew much you will get this wad of what feels like casing but I guess it's just the beef stick that you either spit out or swallow this lump. If you don't chew it too much you don't get this problem.The second star I dropped is because several of the sticks have been covered with fat between the stick and casing. I've had to take a napkin and wipe it off. It doesn't effect the flavor just not real appetizing. Also in general the sticks are very fatty. So overall I really like the flavor. The casing does have a nice snap when you bite it initially and the texture even though it's fatty is not too bad. But with the couple of cons I am not sure I would buy these again. Buffalo bill short shots are very similar and seemed to not have these problem. The weaver sticks are fairly cheap price and a good value for amount you get but are definitely not your prime beef sticks.

I used to buy these at our local grocery store in packages of 5-6 sticks. Buying it bulk like this is a way better value. The quality is exactly what I would expect. The whole family loves these!

First of all, the amazon site won't let me rate a 0.. or - rating:NOTE:I've made my own beef jerky, dry rack, and smokeer: I served in the military and have eaten 12 yr old C rations.. I've eaten some nasty stuff over the years to "survive".. so I figured the price was ok, why not give it a shot:OMG! the first 2 I tried , The chemical smoke flavoring, that Weaver applies/ uses? was bitter, and unevenly done, I tried 2 and that was enough for me to want to throw away.1 bite would be "ok'.. then the next one would leave a chemically induced flavoring /nasty lingering taste in your mouth: very unappealing: I brought the other 76 sticks to my work, placed in the break room w/ a note saying help yourselves: that was over a week ago.. I'd guess over 65 or more are sitting there still: so If I and 8 of my co-workers won't eat them? (5 of them will eat the sub-par food off the food trucks daily) then neither should you.

These are spicy and not something I'd advise eating large amounts of. The occasional snack (a few per day) they taste fantastic. If you are thinking they are like jerky or a large quantity snack I would advise against. If you eat too many you may end up uncomfortably in the bathroom spending time.
