Impact Combo Boom Stand - 12.95'

I am somewhat of a stand fanatic.. I know that’s lame.. BUT a good or great stand can really make your production easier. I shoot a ton of interviews and this stand has became my new audio stand. I use it to boom my mic over the talent.So far, here are my observations:1. Super sturdy.2. The poles are metal.3. The clamps / adjusting knobs are plastic.4. Most importantly, the boom swing portion is metal on metal.5. The head has a great design on three position direction on the stud.6. Love the pole can adjust to the floor for extra sturdiness.All in all...I am absolutely blown away at the quality of this stand. VERY happy I purchased it!

The locking pivot feels very tight and doesn't lock the arm in the "almost what i wanted position" because it's not locked in with one of these cheaper (some very decent) plastic fixtures with a rosette.Nice to be able to take the whole pole out for handheld light modeling… no need to also take a pole along.

I have several stands from this manufacturer and have been pleased with the build quality and light weight. I use this stand for adding a FIILEX P180 where needed. It works well.

Feels solid but time will tell of the counter weight connection holds.

This boom stand does a great job for light-weight lights etc. I used it with a Speedlight for hair/rim light. It's sturdy and the included weight bag is great.

It’s metal, it’s heavy, it has an extra wide base for stability, and it has a sand bag (to counterweight the boom). Overall, it’s a versatile stand that has a long reach, is not too expensive, and can handle most situations. I recommend getting an extra sand bag or two (for the base of this stand to increase stability). The only thing to note is the boom definitely has a weight limit at full reach (about 3 pounds and no more). This stand is great for a mic, and is fine for a moderate-size LED light (that is not weighty). But at maximum length/weight, this combo stand seems at its limits. I have a 10-inch LED platter light near that weight limit—and this hair light begins to strain the stand if its position starts to lean toward that maximum length. Obviously, heavier lights can be used if the boom is not extended far. So, it works very well, and I recommend it for most situations. But don’t buy this if you plan to push it near its stated length/weight limits (or beyond).

Great stand and high quality

Very sturdy for its price and size.Easy to work with.A tad larger than a regular stand (I wish they had a smaller version that fits into Arri light/stand case) but it's still about the best boom stand for travel.
