GIGABYTE X570 UD (AMD Ryzen 5000/X570/ATX/PCIe4.0/DDR4/USB3.2 Gen 1/Realtek ALC887/M.2/Realtek GbE LAN/Gaming Motherboard)

So I usually update my computer every 8 years. When I do I try to do an upgrade that is both cost effective, modern and allows for a possible cpu upgrade a year or two down the road.My build of New and old:(New) - Gigabyte X570 UD rev1.0 motherboard-------------B07WL68L6M(New) - Ryzen 5 1600 AF cpu-------------YD1600BBAFBOX(New) - G.skill Aegis DDR4-3200MHz CL16-18-18-38 32GB-------------F4-3200C16D-32GIS(New) - Mushkin Enhanced Pilot M.2 2280 250GB PCIe Gen 3 x4 NVMe 1.3 3D TLC SSD-------------MKNSSDPL250GB-D8(Old) - MSI RX 480 GAMING X 4G Graphics card-------------B01KIZUF7Y(Old) - HITACHI HDS721075KLA330 DESKSTAR 7K1000 750GB 7200RPM Drives ( 3 drives )(Old) - LG WH16NS40-KIT 16X Blu-ray BD/BDXL/MD M-DISC Burner Drive 3D Playback(Old) - 430W Power Supply(Old) - ATX Tower caseOn first boot into bios, the memory was set at 2100MHz. I changed the memory settings in bios to use the XMP profile and rebooted. Memory is now clocking at 3200MHz. All in all, this was a rather simple upgrade. Of course Windows 10 now says it is not activated and I was unable get it to work but thats fine. Windows still loads and I'll eventually install Linux Mint on the system.I know some will say why add a Zen+ cpu onto an X570 motherboard. Well, the X570 will allow me to eventually upgrade to a highend Gen 3x ryzen and add a video card and NVMe that will take advantage of the PCIe 4. But for right now, it works exactly as I hoped it would.

I ended up spending more, adding junk to this motherboard, than if I'd gone ahead and purchased its more feature-rich big brother. I don't regret buying it, but next time I think I'll spend another $50 to save myself $100 or more in 3rd party accessories.Of course, if you really don't want that other fluff, this is a very fine motherboard. I just got caught up in the RGB craze, and this one only supports a single strand or two of non-addressable.

Good thing it supports BIOS Flashback without a CPU! The first time, I got a dud unit, so I went with a different brand (ASRock). However, ASRock Phantom Gaming 4 did not support BIOS flashback. Returned ASRock, got another x570 UD. With the second unit, the flashback went flawlessly, just get it going according to instructions, and go away for about half an hour. Have lunch, tea, whatever. When you come back, the board will be done and ready to be booted with the Vermeer CPU (Mine is Ryzen 7 5800x).

I started off my journey to build a good gaming pc with a motherboard I bought off of Newegg. That motherboard didn’t come for a month until they told me my order got voided. The next mother board I bought was a intel compatible 😬 my stupid self didn’t buy rizen compatible. My third motherboard started showing a red beeping light which I checked on reddit means the board is defective. As you can tell I am cursed when it comes to motherboards. I bought this one looking for a gen 3 rizen motherboard this one came the fastest was compatible with all of my parts and in turn was easy to set up. 10/10 would reccomend to someone looking for a good priced motherboard.

a solid brand with a very well priced board. my new gaming rig is rocking this board and setup was a breeze. great bios software and was easy to get everything built and running.

I've spent about a good part of the day, just installing a Ryzen 9 3900X, + 32GB of DDR4 (4x8GB), and 3 RTX GPUs.This board has numerous bugs, from not displaying anything, to RAM read errors (the board saw the ram as 2133 instead of 3200Mhz), to CPU errors, screen freezes!UNBELIEVABLE!I finally managed to find my way to get an operating system to work, but still today, one bug persists, in that when I turn on the PC, my monitor doesn't automatically turn on. I have to manually turn it on.And if I turn it on too soon, it'll turn off again; and if I turn it on too late, it'll show a blank screen (no GUI desktop).Do be aware that this same OS runs great on my Intel systems.Anyway, I managed to get around it, but the amount of bugs are phenomenal!I'm dumbfounded these boards are allowed to be sold to the public!Edit: It appears this board is unable to accept 3 GPUs.I will be returning this board!Edit 2: The screen bugs have been relieved with a BIOS update.The Bios update also brought about 50Mhz higher overclock on the ryzen CPU. I've additionally added an 80mm fan to cool the VRMs, as I'm using water-cooling and the VRMs get no cooling from a CPU fan; and an additional 50Mhz was gained (VRM temps now down to ~30C from +65C).The Ryzen now runs between 3,55Ghz to 4,115Ghz on all cores (depending on the load, and if AVX is used).I must say the BIOS update is a must, as soon as possible!Still I'm experiencing I can only add 2x RTX GPUs to the system!That sucks!Edit 3: Finally time to throw in the towel!The bios no longer allows for modifications. It now only boots from after performing a bios reset. No OC, not even a fan curve adjustment, or XMP enabling.Board will return!

purchased this x570ud motherboard and a GTX 1650 graphics card which will not boot up together. Graphics card will work in another computer and motherboard will boot up only with a NVDIA GT 250 BY ASUS Everything works perfectly after installing graphics card in proper pci socket

Personally this board is a awesome upgrade. Replaced a asrock b450m hdv r4.0. Very happy with this. Booted right up with no problems. I immediatly noticed more vibrant colors with this motherboard. Definitely recommend.
