I found this radio featured on the Amazon website while looking at a couple of different makes, and was impressed by others' reviews. I too am impressed with the ease of use compared to the one it's replaced, it has an attractive appearance and good sound quality. The company, Majority, responded quickly to my query concerning batteries and the three year warranty offer - easily achieved - is a further bonus.

I needed a radio where I could select channels with a push button rather than a rotary pre-set. There are remarkably few. As I already have two Majority products that work well I was delighted to see the Majority Girton ii had the buttons I needed. I ordered through Amazon and it arrived next day, excellently packaged, and took less than 10 minutes to unpack, set up and undertake the automatic initial full scan. Everything worked well without a hitch.A previous review suggested the Girton was too loud when turned right down but this was not true as I easily reduced the sound level to zero using the normal rotary dial. The smart light oak effect casing looks smart and blends in well and the display is clear. I use it at bedside, overnight, and I was able to dim the display to a very comfortable level. Sound quality for both speech and music was superb for such a budget-priced radio and both the DAB and fm scans brought in lots of National and local stations. Transferring my favourite stations to the pre-sets took seconds and was really easy. The date and time functions came up automatically and needed no adjustment. I haven’t yet tried the alarm function but have no doubt that they will work just as easily as the other functions.All-in-all, the Girton ii is a smart, easy to use, nice looking radio at a budget friendly price.

I bought this radio for my mum for Christmas as her very old deaf Hitachi DAB radio was on its last legs as they say.The Majority Girton 2 radio is mostly easy to use although setting preset 5 to 10 is a bit more fiddly. You have to press and hold the 5 button then select the number required.The sound quality is ok but not as good as my Roberts radio unit although the Roberts set cost a lot more.The scrolling through the DAB channels is easy. There are a lot more stations available than her old DAB radio with it having DAB+ I did notice a slight delay of a couple of seconds when pressing the preset before the sound starts. The reception seems ok with the local stations.The FM reception is ok for local stations but sadly not as sensitive as others from a close neighbouring area tested that can be picked up easily on other radios. This is also the case with DAB.The power button is at the bottom next to the volume control.The radio comes with a 3 year warranty although you need to register it within 30 days of purchase.It’s not a bad basic DAB+ / FM radio and the reception is clear. It has no other inputs such as Aux or Bluetooth.The radio has a clock alarm which I have not tested and can also be powered by batteries but I have not tried it on batteries.Mum seems happy with it as it’s easy to use presets 1 to 4 and it’s picks the local DAB / DAB+ stations ok.I give it 4 stars out of 5 due to these reasons.

This radio is awesome quality. It has really smooth Audio with no tinniness whatsoever. The functionality is easy to set up and it is beautiful to look at, very smart & sleek design.I normally go for Roberts radio but very pleased that I chose this little beaut :)The volume is very loud when turned up and a dent lose its Audio quality.Over all its perfect.At £44.95 its a steal :)

What a shock I had when I found out that AM does not exist anymore. My old radio, after listening to Gold AM had to be finally put to rest. But all was not lost as for a very reasonable price I bought this radio.Amazed at the sound quality,probably because of the two speakers ( stereo ) and the amount of volume it had. Once I got my favourite stations all tuned in to the memory, and it was very simple to do,my problems were solved. Just push a button for the desired station. Great !!For the price - a really great radio and it looks good as well. Well worth the money !

Good solid radio, easy to use, good sound

We had three nearly new radios in our house plus a nearly new music centre. However, my favourite radio station, Classical FM, went over to DAB+ radio so that meant buying a new radio that would give me this station. I looked in Amazon first and this radio stood out as being most handsome. Believe it or not this radio in reality looks much better than the advert photograph. We are very happy with our new radio which does an awful lot for a very reasonable price. We did need some help by someone younger and more technically minded setting this radio up but I believe had I have studied the instructions I could have done this myself. But now it works just fine though we have still to work out how to get this radio to automatically turn itself off which one can do up to two hours. One can then fall asleep listening to the radio knowing it won’t disturb your night’s sleep as it will automatically turn itself off at the time you set in multiples I believe of fifteen minutes. All radios should have this function as it’s most handy. I have noticed some reviewers have issues over the length of the lead but we have no problems with this.

Looks smart in the kitchen. Perfect size for a table or shelf. The wooden surround gives it a retro look but still clean modern lines.Sounds really good and simple to operate. Good value if you're happy with the basics. Mains or battery with headphones/aux out. Well pleased.
