Niwaki Forged Snips

Not much more to say. Great design and well made - bought these as a second pair to keep in potting shed.

A good (ish) tool for dead heading. Cutting joint has wobble from new - and is riveted- not screw thread as per other Niwaki products- so it is not user adjustable. Spring fell out on day one. The basic tool is good, but needs a LOT of refining. Contacted the company about the spring. It's apparently supposed to be like that. I have a pair of Niwaki GR Pro secateurs that are great. These snips are not even close to the same quality. Disappointing.

Really nice, make sure you want none stainless ones as these will rust instantly If you don't take care of them everytime. But you get the benefit they are sharp and hold the edge, also look cool.

Brilliant snips, lightweight , perfect for delicate trimming.

The metal spring falls out, this happened 3 times to me, each time when I was working in a bed and had to search to find it, I believe that given the price this should not happen. Also the webbed sling that holds the 2 arms together when shut constantly becomes tangled in the other arm when in use making efficient dead heading impossible.I don't believe that this item, given 2 design faults, is fit for purpose.

I bought a pair of these from a garden centre for myself and was so impressed that I bought another pair for my Mum. I was so excited to buy then for her that I made her have a go as soon as I gave them to her (I'm 51, she's 81, I suspect it's an age thing). They are the best snips I've ever owned and my mum agrees. I've now bought another pair for my sister for her birthday. It's sad what you get excited about as you get older. Yes, they're expensive, but with good care these will last a lifetime.
