Goes into a lot of detail on the science of foods
I'm trying to get my kids interested in science. I had borrowed this book from the library just to check it out. I think it offers a lot of background on the science of food that is easy for kids to understand. I thought it was so well done and thorough that I will be purchasing my own book for future reference.

A bit sloppy with its information
An illustration that is supposed to show stomata shows a cross section of leaf with no stomata evident. The nutrition table omits fruits and vegetables as a source of potassium. They are considered among the richest sources of this mineral. The illustration of carbon dioxide shows the wrong shape for the molecule. There is some good information and interesting activities (but when the result is shown and described along with the directions, it leaves nothing to discover), but this book needs tighter science editing.

Amazing Food Facts!
Great food fact! Easy to learn about nutrition, food functions, the body’s relation with vitamins and minerals. The layout is perfect. The digital book made for some formatting issues.
