I cannot recommend it highly enough, but you should use the official Land O Lake's white cheese dip recipe. It worked beautifully and there was no difference in taste or texture after thawing, so as long as you have the freezer space this giant purchase is well worth it!I use this cheese with Steak-eze and real chip steak too to make spectacular philly cheese steaks. It's all really good finely grated and put in to ground beef tacos!

I love the product, but this seller is the worst. Package arrived hot and rotten, they shipped it with zero ice packs in the summer in Texas . Wow.The same exact product but the yellow version costs $100 more. Seriously?? That’s ridiculous. I’m furious that I spent $177 (with tax) for it to arrive spoiled.

The cost of our local deli sliced cheese has been going up steadily and has become quite outrageous so I decided to try this product. I have a meat slicer so slicing the cheese to order is not an issue. The Land O Lakes American Extra Melt is very tasty, slices nicely, excellent in sandwiches, melts beautifully and turns out to be a very good value for the price. If you’ve ever enjoyed a tasty Queso Dip at your local Mexican restaurant, this cheese will precisely replicate the recipe.

I bought this cheese because I grew up in a city where we did receive "government cheese", and it was by far the best cheese I have ever had. I thought this was that cheese and wasn't phased by the price. Unfortunately I received this only to find out it's white American cheese and doesn't taste like that famous "government cheese". I will say the cheese is good, has a nice flavor, freezes well, and it does make a nice grill cheese; however, if you're buying it for the nostalgia of "government cheese" you'll be disappointed. I wouldn't buy this again for that reason. I think I can get cheese that's just as good locally.

This cheese is the absolute best for queso. Just add chilies, 1/2 and 1/2 and a little butter and this will be a hit!

This cheese is very similar to that comforting, delicious government cheese form back in the day. It tastes amazing, and melts perfectly. Makes the best grilled cheese ever!

It came unrefrigerated! I called Land O’ lakes and they said it is spoiled and do not eat it!! Absolutely absurd! If I could I would have given it 0 stars!!
