Great item
I've used the chopat for 20 years now but it was time for a new one. The new one works perfectly for my Achilles issue. I bought the size medium but it was a little too small so I returned it for the large and received a refund with no issue. Error on the side of going larger

Excellent to augment your recovery
The Cho-Pat achilles strap was an addition to my current rest period during a chronic achilles tendonitis bout. I am a competitive distance runner who averaged 85 miles per week during 2012. After struggling through several dismal half marathons (72-74 minutes) I finally decided to rest. My achilles pain was severe.I have used virtually everything available on the internet and I can honestly say that including cold laser therapy , this strap provides the highest relief for my mid-point and insertional achilles issues. Should you run with this? Certainly not - if you need to run with a band-aid on you should re-evaluate what you are out there for (even a professional runner would not do this). For those interested I would advise that in addition to the traditional rest period - the following stack up as the best "Relief" for day to day AT issues.1. Active Release Therapy (ART) - By far the largest ROI1a. I HIGHLY advise purchasing the trigger point kit (tptherapy.com)2. Penetrex NSAID cream (must be used 4-5x a day during acute pain3. Cho-Pat Strap4. Cold Laser Therapy (LLLT) - I own the terraquant/handycure model - all others are literally junk5. Myofascial Release (Grastons, Gua Sha, etc)6. Eccentric Heel DropsThings that make no difference1. Ultrasound - I own several of the devices on here - none made a difference2. Achilles "wraps"3. NSAID pills (naproxen, aspirin etc).4. Achilles "lifts" for your shoesThe most important aspect is to realize your wounded - do not prolong the inevitable (A rupture)

Too small
I measured my ankle per instructions then ordered the recommended size small against my better judgement. Yep, it's too small and non-returnable so I'm unable to recommend how well it works. I may order the larger size for the price point.

does what it says
I lost the one I had for years, years later I still find it amazing that this works. I should keep an extra around!

Runs much smaller then stated measurement and not a refundable item per the seller
I'll never know if this would work as I ordered the correct size after measuring my ankle (9 1/2 inches) and ordered the small which was listed to fit up to 10 1/2 inches. It was MUCH too small with only about 1/3 inch left to be able to close the velcro. Once I tried to close it tighter it caused alot of pain on the tendon.Upon looking to return it (listed as a Prime item) I saw it said it was not returnable per the seller. Fortunately, I contacted Amazon and they gave me a refund w/o having to even return the item. Donating it to a charity and never ordering anything from the seller again.THANK YOU AMAZON for the refund

More comfortable than it looks.
I could wear it with all my shoes and it fit well under a sock so the beige wouldn't show with work pants. I wish it came in black, too. I have a history of achilles tendonitis and knew when it started acting up I better do something to avoid months of pain and physical therapy. This did the trick! I bought it with the foot rocker which also helped.

Patience
I couldn’t have soldiered on walking every afternoon without the Achilles Cho-pat. It’s very helpful; but do look into getting PT.
