Riedel Swirl White Wine

They are great

These are great glasses. I have the original Reidel "O" glasses and really liked using them. I purchased these because of the swirl design. These are unique in that the swirl in the middle makes it easy to hold the glass. They are also dishwasher safe. I bought them in both the red and white wine sizes. I gave some as gifts for Christmas. They arrived quickly and were packaged securely with no worries about damage during transit.

I ended up ordering four total glasses (in two boxes) in order to get the free shipping discount and they were on my porch in less than 3 days! Amazing! These are exactly what I wanted after breaking a wine glass with a stem recently. I like the "waist line" look so I have a secure place to put my fingers without worrying about losing my grip. My niece-in-law pointed out that she likes this style glass because she can put them in the dishwasher and that seemed like what I'd want to do as well. They are a bit pricey, but worth it to me as they are exactly what I wanted and the free shipping made it all that much better.

These are made by Riedel, and if you are familiar with that company, you can expect the same quality you have come to know. OF COURSE they are fragile. They are glass. And yes, the glass is thin, just like similar glasses.I like these just fine but yes they are small. Not cartoonishly small or anything, but pretty small. I have some other Cabernet style Riedel stemless glasses and they are quite a bit bigger. You can see in the photos.How small? I have pretty big hands and it's difficult to get the sponge in there to clean them. And it feels like I can wrap my fingers too far around them to be taken seriously.But you can really swirl some wine in these, and they are different, and you can really get a great grip on them, if, when you are wine tasting, you are climbing over a fence or something.

Wine glasses are the best.

Several reviewers have commented that they don't hold up in the dishwasher because they are so fragile. Not my experience. Both the base and the lip are more "sturdy" than my preference, and also compared to other Reidel stemless wine glasses that I have. I don't think they are worth $10 a piece, especially if you appreciate a thin lipped glass. Upside is the swirl makes the glass easy to hold onto when it sweats!

Our new pair of wine glasses arrived today and I immediately poured in 5 oz of a white pinot grigio--perfect! The top of the wine level just reached the bottom edge of the swirl. These should work for either white or red wines and I prefer the smaller size. A classy stemless glass particularly if friends drop by, with a nice etching on the bottom. If you hold the swirl properly, wine temp should not be affected......and with same swirl it should be easy to hang on if you decide on a second glass of vino :) Very large hands might be more comfortable with the larger(red) size.........Very happy and at some point must order another pair!
