Royal Doulton Bunnykins Childrens Plate, Cereal Bowl and 1 Handled Hug-a-Mug Childresns Dining, 3 piece set, Multicolor

It is a tradition in our family to give Royal Doulton Bunnykin's mugs and other items for Baptism, or a birth. The idea is to use them often and although most of them have been chipped or dinged over the years (parental discretion allowed) my memories are of all of use kids having our mugs filled with homemade cocoa and marshmallows with cinnamon toast for a snack on a cold winter night. Each one is adorable and each child will relate to and study the scene in their own mug. Mine was a winter sledding scene, my sister's had the hats and hair brushes depicting girl bunnies getting dressed up. I got my first son a fishing mug with a crayfish/lobster attatched to the Bunny's nose. They are lovely porcelain and are fragile, but should not be stored away in a box, but used for a real childhood memory.

These are very cute and I have given them to my grandchild and as a shower gift for my expectant grandchild. This tradition started early as my grandmother had given these to my mother when she was expecting me. I, in turn, gave them to my niece and my son received them when he was born 26 years ago. The good thing is that they feature both boy and girl bunnies so that either sex can use them. I love the whole Beatrix Potter book series and the author's story behind the vivid images of animals she created from what she saw.

I have 6 grandkids & each one has received the bunnykins bowl & cup when they were born.They are still used by my 5, 6, & 7 yr olds. The shape of the inside of bowl is shaped to make the food easier to "scoop" onto the spoonPlease don't be afraid to use everyday, trust me, they are very sturdy.When my oldest was born (39 years old now) he received s bowl & I gave it back to him when he had his first born.She loves it!

Received one set for my youngest who now is in his forties...he will give to his son.

The first two photos are what the images look like on this cup I just purchased. The third image is of a cup my son received as a gift when he was born more than 36 years ago.The reproduction quality on the new cup is full and fuzzy looking compared to the older cup where the colors are vibrant and the images sharp. Both cups are Royal Dalton but on closer inspection, the newer cup says copyright Royal Dalton—could that mean the production of the item was sold to another manufacturer?I’ll be returning.

We bought this set for our daughter's first Christmas. Obviously, she isn't even using it yet, but we wanted her to have a keepsake that would mean something later. Since we still have my husband's Bunnykins set from his first Christmas, this seemed like the perfect option. The set is beautiful with a classic design. I would have given it 5 stars except for 2 things:1) It is made in Indonesia (That just seems wrong! Royal Doulton in Indonesia...really?)2) We couldn't select the design (In our case, we were happy to receive the camping design, which is perfect for our family. However, not everyone would be happy with this design.)All in all, we are very happy with our purchase and hope that some day our daughter will be able to pass this along for another generation to enjoy.
