Can I eat this without cooking e.g. with salad?

its duck legs preserved in duck fat. you'd be mad to eat it straight out of the tin! it is cooked so you wouldn't poison yourself but follow my instructions for a stunning salad..... warm the tin a bit to liquify the fat unless you like squelching your hands in fat. open tin with stout opener and put duck on grill tray over a foil lined grill pan to drain the liquid fat from the cuisses. pour the rest of the warm fat into tubs and freeze/refridgerate. DO NOT BIN OR OUR AWAY! for a salad, one cuisse between 2 is probably ok, but i'd have one each! warm through at 180 deg for 15 mins then grill very carefully ?2 mins - not directly under the grill, prob a shelf down, and don't burn the skin. you can gently crisp the skin in a pan too. scoff with chips or roast king edwards and salad or green beans or sit on a bed of lentils/cabbage. for salad, allow to cool and break up - this is very easy it crumbles in your hand or with the back of a fork. a vinaigrette on the leaves is nice, as are cornichons/capers left over cuisses keep a few days in the fridge. the xs fat will do 2 shop tubs of duck fat from a shop = 5-6£ fat in a tin of these then take some atorvastatin and wash down with a decent claret. huge favourite we do for the kids birthdays, usually better than a restaurant despite no prep, partly because they can't cook roast potatoes properly (par boil king eds 5 mins, toss to fluff in colander, duck fat, salt, done) hope this helps!

are the products labelled in English as the trading standards require?

No but I got mine in France.Very easy to do though;take duck legs out of tin and wipe off surplus fat (I have even rinsed it off under running tap) and brown in hot oven for 20-30mins.

Good quality. 4 x duck legs

Four good sized duck legs. Cooked to perfection in 15 - 20 mins in hot oven. Served with garlic herby potatoes - it was delicious. It IS expensive and I think there's been a price increase since I bought it. Myst gave a look at sous chef

Very delicious product.

Use to bring several tins from France holiday ending end of September but as we have not been over there for 6 years we decided to treat ourselves this time. Still excellent tasting duck meat.

We love this, and it is not the first time we have bought it. We used to live in France and this is just as good as the canard we bought on our local market in the Dordogne.We keep at least one tin in the cupboard makes a great quick meal for unexpected guests. Buy it I am sure you will love it.

Dreadful delivery information, excellent product.

No problem with the excellent product but the delivery information from Amazon was appalling. Told it was arriving then received a warning would not be arriving for up to two days, then two more conflicting updates. As it was required all of this nonsense was most disturbing. Please do better.... much better!
