Safe, quality made helmet and fits me well
I'm hoping this review will be of some help to someone out there who's looking for a good quality helmet that fits right. Sorry, it's kind of a long read. I did quite a bit of research and mostly looked at the S1 Lifer, the TSG Evolution, and the Triple 8 Gotham helmets. I'm a middle-aged guy and just getting back into roller skating so my skills are pretty rusty and I wanted a good quality helmet to practice outside. The MIPS technology was also something that impressed me as a good feature to have.I measured my head with one of those flexible tailoring measuring tapes. My head measured exactly 23 in or 58.5 cm.After reading the information from the Triple 8 product descriptions, they recommended that you choose larger size if your measurement fell in between two sizes, which mine did. I ordered the L/XL helmet and when it came in and I tried it on I had to adjust the dial system in the back of the helmet to get it to fit snug front to back, but the sides felt kind of loose. I could slide three fingers in between my temples and one the side of the helmet. I felt if the dial system adjustment in the back ever broke, the helmet would be useless because it was way too large. And then looking in the mirror I felt like Dark Helmet from the movie Spaceballs, it really looked ridiculously large as my photos will show.So I returned the L/XL and ordered a Sm/M even though my head was a little bit larger than what it recommended. It did fit very snug but it seemed to seat down properly as the front was just a little bit above my eyebrows as it should be. Also, my ears were in the right position in the helmet openings on the side. I did end up removing the small piece of felt padding in the front of the helmet and now the helmet fits absolutely perfect.I ended up discounting the S1 Lifer helmets because I felt that based on my head measurements, I was going to need the S1 Mega Lifer and it would have a bunch of padding holding my head in there and I was afraid that the padding would eventually compress over time and compromise the snugness of fit. And I also couldn't find the helmet size that I wanted in prime with returns and I wanted to be able to return the helmet if it didn't fit right. So I didn't end up ordering one if those to try out. Lastly, it lacked The MIPS technology.I also tried the TSG Evolution helmet because of it's contoured design. Which it fit pretty good, but upon closer inspection the foam protective layer was noticeably thinner than that of the Triple 8 helmets, especially in the front. It was also lacking in MIPS protection. My wife said the helmet actually sat higher on my head than the Triple 8 Sm/M. She thought the Triple 8 Sm/M for better.I've been using the Triple 8 Sm/M helmet for about 3 weeks. It feels very comfortable and I forget I'm wearing it. I do get sweaty when I skate and it hasn't seemed that bad to me as I've seen other reviews where people feel the airflow isn't that great. The chin strap and buckle seem to be good quality and adjust well to keep the helmet secure. The first two pictures I uploaded are obviously my head measurements. The third picture is the difference between the foam padding on the Triple 8 Sm/M on the left, and the TSG Evolution on the right. The fourth picture is the side and front shots of me wearing the helmets with each picture labeled. The final picture is of the chin strap. So far I'm very pleased with the Triple 8 helmet and the look. And like someone else said, if you don't like the look of the helmet, you're not going to wear it and it won't do you any good if you don't wear it. Hopefully, I don't need to test it's durability. But if I do I will update this review. Good luck and safe skating!

Comfortable Helmet with Excellent Noggin Protection
Having sustained a serious head injury in the past, helmets which offer the utmost protection are priority number one for me. The Triple 8 Gotham Dual Certified MIPS helmet fits the bill, especially given their incorporation of MIPS technology. The helmet is comfortable, breathable, and fairly lightweight. The rapidly adjustable back-strap makes donning and doffing the helmet a breeze and the chin strap is very easy to adjust compared to other helmets I’ve owned. I would highly recommend this helmet to anyone looking for a stylish bike/skate helmet that offers top-of-the-line protection.

Always wear a helmet!
Great helmet! Comfy and protects my noggin. Love that it’s multiple impact point safe. The white is great for covering it in stickers, too.

Great MIPS helmet for child
I'm impressed with the helmet's appearance; it looks great and seems to be of high quality. The black matte finish is fantastic. As a parent, I value the additional safety features that MIPS provides. I have no regrets about choosing this helmet, and my 10-year-old son also approves of it. Although it's slightly heavier than his old helmet, I expected this due to its higher quality. The fit was perfect for my son, whose head circumference of 22" falls in the middle of the small/medium range. I hope he never has to test the helmet's safety features, but if they're ever needed, I won't regret paying extra for a high-quality helmet. As an aside, the yellow "MIPS" sticker on the helmet is not intended to be removed. I learned the hard way and I now have a half-scraped sticker on an otherwise perfect helmet.

Fits my round head just to bulky.
To large. Fits well but swivels on my head, large /xl fit to large even after switching to the second padding provided. The dial works nicely and won’t let you over tighten the brow on the helmet shell does not let air ventilate the helmet just direct the air around the under side of the helmet. It feels and looks bulky on the head. I ordered the dual certified as well to see which I preferred. Returning them both for different reasons. I like the Gotham it was noticeably warmer after wearing it inside for about 2 minutes but was more comfortable.

Nice m.i.p.s. helmet
Nice MIPS helmet. Comfortable and good fit. Good value. Not too hot to wear.

Fits my freakishly small head
I am an adult with a 20.5 inch oval head! I usually have trouble finding helmets that are small and narrow enough for me. This is especially hard when it comes to skate-style helmets. This fits like a glove. The dial provides some extra snugness and allows me to adjust the fit depending on my hairstyle that day. I have tried so so so many helmets and it’s awesome to find one that’s such a comfortable and perfect fit. It’s also thick and protective without giving me that “mushroom” effect. I’m delighted!

budget pick but looks good and fits well
I use this on my bike and it works fine. It feels pretty snug, but for me that's a feature, not a bug. I haven't had to play with the thicker pads yet, but if anything I'd be looking to make it looser. I'm also happy to not be wearing a goofy wavy helmet; this thing looks as good as a bike/skate helmet can and I don't get self conscious having my coworkers see me in it.
