Very nice rod for price!
First one came broken (could have avoided with a little effort in packaging) but the return and replacement went smooth and as expected.

A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT !!
Purchased this rod to fish for Salmon and Stealhead in the Salmon River. I thought it was a good value and a quality rod because I know that Okuma makes quality equipment. Anyhow the rod never had the opportunity to see water. The rod was delivered the day I was leaving so I just put the box iny truck and left. Upon opening the box it had no padding or buffers to prevent the rod from sliding around. I removed the rod from the box and attempted to assemble it . After putting two sections together It looked like a Beautiful rod but all that happiness melted away when I pulled out the 3rd Top section . 7 inches of the top was broken off. Needless to say I was pretty pissed off. I did as another person had done here. I went to a local shop (Fat Nancy's) in Pulaski, NY and purchased another rod( Riversider ) that performed quite well producing many fish that day. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING THIS ROD ! MAYBE OKUMA SHOULD SELL THEIR RODS WITH HARD CASES, NOT DUST BAGS.

Review for Okuma Aventa Center Pin Float Rod - 13', 4-8 Lb, Light Action
I am very pleased with the purchase of the Okuma Aventa CP Float Rod for a number of reasons:- I received the rod in a very timely manner & the rod was properly packaged thus preventing any damage during shipping- The rod works very well and has already landed quite a few nice Steelhead & Trout with no problems noted- Overall, the rod is exactly what I expected for the $$$ I paid for...I would recommend the Okuma Aventa Center Pin Float Rod to any of my friends for center-pinning.

I would not recommended this rod
Used this rod once on a 3 day fishing trip in NY. Caught two Steelhead (6 lbs & 4 lbs) on this rod with no problems. But on the third Steelhead, the rod broke about 2 feet from the top. I tried to clip the broken part and continue to use the rod, but it had weakened to much. I would not recommended this rod.

Well built great rod for the money.
Great rod for the money. I bought this as a starter for my son with a cheap center pin reel. Happy so far.

poor material quality
Total of two fish caught before breaking. Used for the first time on a guided steelhead fishing trip. Caught and landed the first steelhead, on the second caught fish the rod snapped right in half between the handle and the first guide without much pressure on the fish. I won't buy another one of these rods. Don't waste your money.
