From tip fork end of fork, to the handle tip end, it measures 13 and 1/4 inches (using tape measure). I really like these long utensils because I use mostly medium to large size pots and fry pans for my family dishes. If using smaller pots and pans, the length and weight of the fork handle might cause it to tip out of the pan if left in the pan, so need to be sure to put in a spoon rest or something in between stirrings. No tipping out problems if using medium to large pots and pans.

They are not sharp enough, in my opinion. I would use metal tongs for that. These are good for stabilizing large pieces of meat while carving and piercing soft items.

I would say they are, but I have never tried spearing a shrimp. I can pick up a roast or some other type of meat with the fork. I hope this helps
