Since this is gravity fed and NOT pressurized, can the hose be cut and shortened to fit my application?

The hose has an internal ground wire with pressed on ends. It would be difficult to correctly shorten it and maintain safety rating.

Crossbars have a weight limit of 150lbs, and then you would need to mount like a cargo basket which has a weight limit of 250lbs. The gas tank (full) will weight 114lbs ***noted that only 14gals can actually be used*** so you would come in with 36lbs left over.
