Good product, here's the manual!
This is my first helmet intercom, so I don't have anything to compare it with, but I did a lot of research before buying and the FX8 really stood out as a great value - and I must agree!Sound:The audio was a little fuzzy, but at least the volume is loud enough to hear, even when doing 70mph on a noisy motorcycle, and the person I was talking to could barely tell I was going fast.Ease of use:The set up is not very intuitive - YOU WILL NEED THE MANUAL - and luckily mine came with a copy because I can't find it online anywhere. So, I scanned a copy and shared it here. You're welcome. I had misplaced mine and tried using a youtube video to pair the intercom, but it didn't help much and I'm not sure how I actually got them to pair up. Without the manual, you'll never figure this thing out. But at least the buttons are all easy to press - even while wearing gloves - and I really like that the volume is a knob instead of a button. Also, the 2nd time I went to use it, the bluetooth auto connected to my phone and the FM radio was simple to use (once I found my manual to read)

Great set for multiple riders - long battery life and great range
If you read this, you are making your fair share of research of these kinds of devices. And I wanted to buy the expensive name brands, too. Do the upgraded JBL speakers sound like real headphones? I don't know. For some reason I expected the sound quality to be on par with standard headphones. Maybe other brands are better maybe they are all the same. So if you want fantastic sound quality - then either upgrade the speakers or buy a different device. For me, the focus was on communication. I want to to talk to my wife while we are riding through the mountains. We both have our own bikes. This works great! Here are the PROS:- great range and re-connect: On open roads the range is probably close to half a mile. Behind switchbacks you'll get disconnected but it auto connects after which is a huge plus- wind noise: You pretty much don't hear anything besides the voice (or very heavy breathing). We wear full face helmets - not sure how this is for open face- battery life: We had this on a 3 day trip and never charged it (we actually forgot and it worked all day long)- waterproof: We ran into some really heavy rains and these did not show any signs of damage- Price: Let's face it - if you are looking into these, you think the name brands are too expensive- connectivity to multiple devices: I had navigation on from my phone and we were able to talk at the same time. I think you are supposed to be able to share audio with any driver but I haven't figured that outCONS:- sound quality: It's totally acceptable but sounds more like a phone call than a good bluetooth connection normally sounds like.- high speeds: while you can hear everything at speeds up to 55mph - anything above (even with a full face) and you won't be able to have a conversation - even on highest volumeFor me - the PROs far outweigh the CONs but I have also never used any other intercom!

Fodsport FX10C
I ordered four units and they all were working good. After a few months one of the units stopped working in the mesh mode, I contacted Fodsport and they suggested a hard reset and gave me the instructions. Now the unit is working flawlessly. My only concern with the FX10C is the speakers, if Fodsport upgrades the speaker system it would be a 5 Star review.

Big bang for the buck
My son and I love to go e-biking a lot where we often have to navigate public roads on the way to the trails. After some frustrating experiments with GMRS radios etc, I bought a pair of FX8 last year and could not be more happy with them. It makes our rides so much safer now that we can coordinate crossing roads and weaving through traffic without having to yell at each other or having to push a PTT button to talk and dealing with wires dangling off the helmets. The units installed nicely on our Giro full face mountain bike helmets within minutes. I used some electric tape to secure the wires inside the helmets, as they don't have a liner like a motorcycle helmet to tuck them behind. The audio is clear and intelligible even at speeds of sometimes over 40mph, despite the massive airflow through these bicycle helmets. Range is good and within my expectations for a low power microwave transmitter. If you need ranges beyond line of sight, you can pair your phones and use Siri or equivalent to call the other rider with the push of a button. Battery life is amazing. We often use them for 4-5 hour rides with the intercom active and it takes maybe 10-15 minutes to charge them back up right before the next ride. We've been caught in a downpour or two which didn't harm the headsets in the slightest. I recently bought a 3rd one for when my daughter joins us for a weekend greenway ride. The 3-way communication works just as well as peer to peer.My son dropped his helmet a few weeks ago which unfortunately landed right on the headset and broke the mounting plate on the base. Other than that, the radio doesn't even have scratch. After contacting Fodsports, they are sending me a replacement base in goodwill. I really couldn't be happier.
