Awesome Stuff
After getting tired of looking at all the loose wires in the engine bay of my 65 Mustang, I searched for a product that would make it look neat. I found Techflex due to all of the recommendations from people on forums that absolutely love the stuff. I ordered it from Amazon, and received it before the expected delivery dates. The first thing I wrapped with it was the wires leading from the ignition to the starter solenoid and was amazed at the results. The stuff looks like something the factory would use and makes the bay look 100 times better. I plan on fixing up the wiring with this stuff and probably going to use it on my robotic projects. I highly recommend it.Tip: Seal the ends of Techflex with a lighter so it doesn't unravel. Zip-ties also work well to keep it from unraveling if you don't want to use a lighter on your wires. The product expands and contracts like a chinese finger trap, so this 1/4 sleeve can expand to maybe a 1/2" or so. Perfect for more than one wire

A little tricky to use, but nice results
This is a great product, but can be a little tricky to use since the ends tend to unravel as the wires are fed through. As supplied, the braid at the ends is heat sealed together, but it is necessary to cut off that part to insert any bundle of wires larger than 1/4".The trick is to keep the unraveled part short enough that it will be covered by heat-shrink tubing applied to the ends. I found that I could use a rolled-up strip of paper as a funnel to insert the bundle of wires. That reduced the tendency to unravel. It might also be helpful to apply painters' tape temporarily. When apply the heat-shrink tubing, I rolled a small strip of paper around the end of the braid, then inserted it into the tubing and pulled the paper out. The tubing should be about an inch long, half on the braid and half in direct contact with the wires.Overall I was very pleased with the results, and I'm sure this gets easier with practice.

Braided cable sleeve
This is great stuff. I bought for my 4' x 8' trailer to protect the wiring from the elements and abuse. This sleeve slid right on and when properly extended fits the wiring like a glove. I ran out of my first package so I ordered a second one to finish the job. I had to make a few cuts to run the wiring down both sides of the trailer so to keep the ends of the braid from unraveling a bit, I singed the cut ends slightly. This is 1/4" unexpanded. It expanded easily to cover 2 quick splice connectors, approx 1/2" square. Then I used wire ties to tighten everything up nicely. Looks great.

Good for pet-proofing small cables
This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a cat who LOVES to eat phone charge cables (who knows why - it's only phone charge cables). He has ruined many a cable. So I bought this to cover all my cables. It definitely is very small. You'll see in my picture that it just fits around the cable. You are able to push it together to contract it to make it larger to fit over a larger obstacle, like the USB end of the cord (as pictured). However that's about as big as it will expand. It wouldn't have expanded large enough to clear the Apple charger side of the cord. Also for reference, I tried putting it on another small cord, but would have to clear a 3-prong wall plug to get it onto the cord. That definitely would not work. You would need a larger diameter, though then it might not fit as snugly on the actual cable itself.

Techflex is the BEST!
NOTHING beats Techflex. Nothing. I have been using Techflex loom/sleeve for 10+ years now, and you won't find a better quality product out there. They make TONS of different styles, colors, etc. If you can't find a sleeve to meet your needs you aren't looking hard enough.Flexo PET does not fade, deteriorate, fall apart etc. Just be careful where and how you use it in high heat environments such as under the hood of a vehicle. PET will melt, and when it does it loses it size changing properties because the braid has been compromised. Also, make sure you finish the ends of each sleeve with a good quality heat shrink. I like to take a very small zip tie, snug it tightly over the braid, and then place heat shrink over that. NEVER had an issue that way and it looks great!

GIVES A FINISHED AND MORE PROFESSIONAL LOOK TO MY HOMEMADE 12 AWG CABLES
This was my first time using Techflex. It does take some patience to keep from unravelling and yes, you do have to push it on and let it bunch up and then smooth the bunched up portion across the cable/wire. If you pull on it, it constricts or tightens up. I am sure I can make it look better next time I work with it.I purchased the 1/4" braid to go over twisted pairs of12AWG copper multi-strand wire. I had the twisted wire pairs secured at each end with heat-shrink tubing. The braid slid over the heat-shrink tubing okay but it was more difficult to get another piece of the same size heat-shrink tubing over the braid at each end to keep it from unravelling.I will probably use wire boots/pants next time but I am pleased with my first attempt. I recommend this for a great finished appearance, but only if you're the type that is patient and perseveres in whatever you take on.

Half the size as advertized
This could be a really quality product but the advertised size is not necessarily the size of the product...I ordered 1/4 inch and the product exterior measurement was 1/8 inch...returned it and ordered 1/2 inch hoping to get 1/4 inch...well that size is close to advertised ...but too big for the wires I am trying to cover...how does one get this product in a 1/4 inch size?

Thought it would be bigger — my fault
The unexpanded size is 3/16th inches. I figured it would be 1/4 expanding up to 6/8th. It expands a bit more than 1/2, and as a result I couldn't get a lot of my cables through it because the connectors are too big.As it stands I haven't got much use for this size.I'm going with three stars because the picture was misleading, made it look bigger. But the product is good, just too small for me.
