I'm a size 16-18, 5'5" at 220 pounds. Measurements are 43, 38, 48. I ALMOST got the plus size but so glad I read the reviews! They only size options I could find on Amazon was this one for OS (One Size) which they say best fits 14-16 and the Plus Size which they say best fits size 16-22. Since the reviews for OS say they run big I went for it and so glad I did! It's quite roomy for me. The elastic in the arms is a tad pinchy snug but my arms are what make me need to go up to a size 18 on tops with arms that aren't stretchy.Though the size options I found for this chemise are OS or Plus, the package says 14-16 or 16-22 (see picture). I must say the OS throws me off as a consumer leading me to initially assume it will be too small since "one size" items usually don't fit people my size. It would be better if they just said 14-18 on the Amazon ad. Yes, I said 18 because this would still fit me if I were a size bigger. The elastic would just be more pinchy is all. And if I lost weight I think it would start to feel annoyingly huge. I would want a smaller size.The material is rather soft to the touch! I expected a hard sheet type feel but not at all. Feels nice! So thankful for that.You can't see my feet in the picture but the gown goes to my ankles. And I pulled the arm straight (not bunched) to show the length of the sleeve in the one picture. Last, I put a belt on and bloused out the top to show the roominess. And to think I almost bought the Plus. Phew!

This costume needs to be worn under another dress. It worked well for us as we had another dress that went over the top but was open in the front. The material is not soft and it is a bit see through. It is a very bright, crisp and clean white color. It is very large but has and adjustable string to help pull the neck to the size you need it to be.We used this for a high school play and it was a good choice. It is also a nice piece for us to have in our costume closet since it is very versitile and could be used for other dresses or even as a nightgown.

I needed this to wear under a period costume at the NH Highland Games in Lincoln, NH last weekend. It was perfect in fit and quality was much better than I expected. The price was also very fair and a good value. The only thing I did do was remove the upper arm elastic as it was very tight and quite uncomfortable after wearing it for a bit. Removing the elastic was super simple and made it possible for me to embroider in the sleeve.. An excellent value, highly recommend this seller for quick ship and a very good product.

Like: Item is as described, cute design, bright white. Dislike: Uncomfortable because the polyester feels very plasticky and the elastic in the arms is too tight; warning on label not to wear near flame, it melts under the iron unless set very low.

I normally don't write reviews, but feel people should be warned that the standard size is very large, and actually seems larger than a normal plus size. It is a large shapeless tent with a strange drawstring around the neck that looks like a huge sheet or garbage bag. There is no way this would fit nicely under an overdress with so much excess fabric, and unfortunately, it does not look anything like what it looks like on the model in the photograph provided. I was unfortunately very dissapointed and returned the item. On the bright side, a thank you to Amazon for their free and effortless returns as always. Amazon is an amazing company that I will continue to purchace from on a regular basis, and I have always had a great experience with my orders and the rare returns that are needed due to size issues. Amazon is great, but I do not recommend this specific product at all.

I am happy that the standard size of this chemise fits me. I did not have to pay the extra cost of a plus size. I was concerned because I need this to fit a curvy size 16 body and it does. It may be too much material for a much smaller size, though. Material is soft enough and not transparent. This is well made for a costume item.

I did not find this too sheer at all. For the price, can't be beat for my purposes. I have a Renaissance dress that needed a chemise and this is just fine. I am 5'4" and bottom hits calf length. It IS large though, you rarely find a standard size this big. Mine will be tightened with a medieval corset so it works but any woman under 120lbs might take warning, they'll swim in this if worn loose. String adjustment in front enables it to be worn off shoulder or on. One of the best deals I've found for a RenFest costume.

The gown was ok for the costume, but it was very ill-fitting and awkward. The top was huge but thankfully it had a drawstring to help bring it in, but it had a ton of extra material. It doesn't help that I am small chested, but you would have to have some DDs to fill that out. As I said, it worked out ok for the Annabelle Doll costume I put together. It was the closest thing I could find resembling an old fashioned doll nightgown.
