have nubs that snap into pre existing holes

Q: Which side is the positive and negative side?

I converted my florescent to open end led and it didn't matter, but I did put the positives on the same side of each tomb stone. and cut the wires off the opposite end tombstones.

Q: screw type or snap in?

I bought these to use as a retrofit to an existing fixture and I purposely bought them to "screw down" onto the fixture. I imagine that there are many different types of "slide in/snap in" fixtures. In my particular case, these would not work as a snap in type replacement. There are lots of good close up pictures of this item. I suggest you look at the pictures closely and see how they compare to the part you intend to replace.
