Perfect for place shifting
I bought this to replace the now defunct Slingbox. I travel quite a bit outside of the region for my local sports teams. So I hooked up a FireTV stick to this, open up YouTube TV, and now I can watch my local sports wherever I am! The video and sound quality are great! There’s a little bit of lag from the original broadcast to when I receive it, but it sure beats waiting for hours until the recording is done to watch it. It was pretty easy to set up if you know anything about video and internet. I did notice I have to reboot it every so often, so I plugged it into a cheap smart plug. If I need to reboot the streamer, I just turn off the smart plug and turn it back on. Easy peasy. Overall, I’d say it’s well worth the money to basically have my Slingbox back and all without a recurring subscription fee!

Install it and forget it
A customer has an issue with a pre-existing video system that sent the stream over a WAN connection to view a camera in a different facility. This kept failing so they asked us for a solution. After selecting and installing a URAY Code transmitter and receiver, about 8 months ago we haven't had a single call about the implementation. It simply works to the point that it was forgotten about. Perfect solution. Stable!

Reliable for price
I've had a few of these encoders running pretty consistently for years, and they have been (mostly) reliable. Setting the first one up was a bit tricky, simply because some configuration settings in the app didn't cooperate well with our YouTube stream. Other than that, I would purchase again.

Works sometimes, sometimes not
Ordered this so that we could stop paying a multi-destination streaming service. We stream to 2 destinations only so we hoped this would work for us. At first, it did. This device should really have DHCP configured as default, but with a little network knowhow accessing the Web UI was fairly easy.Once the basic network settings were setup we went to configuring the device for our streaming services. For the most part, it was just a matter of copying the destination settings from our multi-destination streaming service to the device. Some areas of the Web UI were a little confusing as to how to save each setting. After stream 1 and 2 were set up in the device for our 2 destinations, we tested it and at first all seemed fine. Then we decided to reconfigure the device's streams for our multi-destination streaming service and 2 destinations and that's when things went haywire. The device supports up to 4 streams and depending on the resolution of those streams, you can be very limited in quality. We used stream 1 as our 720p stream to our multi-destination streaming service, but did not enable it. Then we configured streams 2 and 3 for our actual 720p streaming destinations. Unfortunately, stream 3 was limited to 540p in the device. However, when we previewed the stream online it was 144p. Unusable for video streaming, obviously. So, we configured streams 1 and 2 for our actual destinations, but once we enabled them, neither stream would appear online. Settings were checked 3 and 4 times but we were never able to get the streams to appear. We rebooted the device several times during troubleshooting, but nothing came of it.We considered resetting it to factory default settings, but then thought that if we had this much trouble with it initially, it may not be worth using at all.
