Very good scanner
I can't speak highly enough of this scanner. It's fast, accurate, fairly easy to program (the enclosed guides are pretty crappy, so be sure to Google it), and the fact that it is plug-and-play (for our setup anyway) was awesome. Definitely recommended--even though the price is a bit stiff.

Fast & Easy to Program
We've been using 2D barcodes in our shop for a while, and I wasn't expecting much difference with these Motorola units - but they've turned out to be an excellent surprise! After receiving them, I downloaded the PDF user guide from Motorola and spent some time getting them setup for our software. (For example, we transmit data using <data><suffix> so our software can easily distinguish between barcode data and a standard keyboard.)Once they were programmed, we used Command Strips to mount them by the computers in the front of the store and started using them.It became obvious very quickly that these scanners are top-of-the-line products. Here are the things we like about them:1) These are very fast at reading data. Reading the barcode from a customer driver's license, for example, takes a third of the time of our other scanners!2) Since we use scanners to track serial numbers and other data on all our products and forms, it's nice that we can disable scanning UPC codes. That's always caused us issues when a UPC code is placed next to a serial number barcode by a manufacturer.3) The accuracy is also excellent with 1D barcodes - that typically isn't a problem with any scanner when reading 2D barcodes...4) I like that these auto-detect when a box is held in front of the scanner. It makes it ideal for POS usage - or you can also set it up to use the button if you need a handheld unit.5) The price isn't much more than other 2D scanners that are far less capable. We just came back to purchase 3 more scanners, and went with more of these. I highly recommend these if you're looking for a very nice 2D scanner!

Scanner works great.
It came in on time and I programmed the codes in it and it works great. I haven't had any trouble at all.

Robust, powerful, and easy to use!
This is a top line product. I ordered the item on friday night and for sure received the item Monday morning, so I can evaluate the preformance of the unit. The scanner is very well built, light weight and has a lot of features built in!I had my laptop nearby, so I connected it and it found the drivers automatically. The next thing I did is to open notepad and scan a regular bar code, it worked right away. So after having receive the unit, 2 minutes later it was working... very good! Now let's do the real test and try the driver license: pulled out mine presented the back of it, and boom, all the data shows on the screen right away, amazing! One thing I would like is to get the serial version of it, thanks!

Ridiculously horrible...and kind of awesome.
It works well, and it works consistently...I thought I was going go insane or smash my face thru a wall trying to set it up.For those who may read this and wonder "is it really that bad to set up?" Yes, it is. I hold multiple IT certifications (including MCSE...so it shouldn't be all that difficult, right?), a computer science degree, and run the IT department of an enterprise sized business. It's so poorly documented, and convoluted I was...impressed. How could such a competent group like Motorola put together such a terrible product (from the installation/software end) and expect people to use these easily? I've installed quite a few barcode scanners, not one has been nearly this ridiculous. They did update the software a bit (at least on the website) and it is a bit easier now...still difficult for what it is.However, once you get it installed and configured, you can pretty much just let it sit there and it does it's job...quite well in fact, especially considering the price. Had it for several months now, still just scanning away, no issues.

One of the best barcode scanner
One of the best barcode scanner! We used the handheld ones even the wireless but not compared to this one! The best part is it senses whatever barcode you add in front of it without being lit all the time and scan precisely

Works fine most of the time
Works fine most of the time. I've had an issue with the scanner not working correctly when I plug it into the computer each day. It could be a problem with the application that uses the scanner, but the only solution I've found is to disable and then enable the scanner. Also, the actual product, while it is Motorola technology, is branded as a Symbol product; the product description and images need to reflect that. Using an image of a Motorola-branded scanner seems misleading.
