Hot food in 10mins
I was not very confident when buying this lunch box after seeing few low rating reviews about it but i gave it a try and so far i have used it for a week, very happy and satisfied with it.My office has about 15 microwaves but it is not enough for us. Our lunch time started almost at the same time at 12:00 pm, you need to wait to your turn and then wait for the food get heated. From my cubicle to breakroom is far. It always take me about 15minutes to have my lunch so I have only 15mins to eat. I ate in rush everyday until I think about an electric lunch box after seeing some clip on media how people cook food in their office. I searched Amazon and saw this product.I have not tried to cook rice or raw food with it but I think I will work well because it is very very hot steam one. I always cooked at home and pack food to work. Before my lunch 10-15minutes, I plug in the lunch box then I can get super hot food to eat. It save me times and food quality is good and healthier than warming food with microwave, after microwave food loose water and get harder or dryer but this lunch box work like a mini steamer so it does not dehydrate food. The important thing is you must remember to pour water to the base before starting warming the food otherwise it does not work. This one is a safe feature I like, it turn off itself if no water so it prevent unexpected fire due to over heat.Be careful when opening the box, it can burn your hand,it very hot.Because it work like steamer so water vapor come out when opening the cover but it is not a surprise. You just need tissue ti wipe out.I enjoy my lunch everyday now and have no rush or stress on time to have lunch

Couldnt be happier!!
I am in LOVE with this lunch box. I couldnt be happier with this purchase. I was a little hesitant because it wasnt an actual itaki brand but i am not dissapointed. I have had this a couple weeks now and have made tons of food from the standard chicken, rice and vegetable to banana bread blueberry muffins, pizza from scratch and enchiladas from scratch. I will say the plastic is thin and cheap and sometimes the lid doesnt go on perfect and I have to push it a little to get it to sit in the groove but I dont care because it works well. It is a steamer and everything you cook will get wet for sure, so stuff you dont want moist like breads i always tin foil before I cook. I havent had any problems and I use it every day at work. I keep a dry washcloth under it while I am cooking because when I open it to check on the food or pull the food out there is a lot of water on the lid and it gets the counter quite wet and I certainly dont want to accidentally get my paperwork wet, but the washcloth works well for that problem. LOVE THIS LUNCHBOX!!

It's a Knockoff Itaki; Still Works.
Note: This is NOT an Itaki, it's a knockoff. Probably has cheaper materials, but it's half the price and still works. I haven't had any issues with it.I wouldn't recommend actually trying to travel with this thing or trying to use it as a "lunchbox", but as a little mini steamer it works just fine. Good for a dorm, single person kitchenette, etc. I've made soups, curry, rice, and other stuff in it without any issues. Takes some getting used to, but it's a decent and cheap addition to a small kitchen.

So far so good
I purchased this 3 Layers 2L Portable Electric Heating Bento Lunch Box a couple months ago in expectation of work changes. As of this week I started using the Bento Box. It heats things up well. No it isn't faster then a microwave but it works well. Fill the containers with the food you want, add water to the base are and press the button. The unit turns off when the water is gone. Watch out for the metal containers that hold your food. You will want to use something to hold them at first. Food is hot. I am enjoying this unit.

Sucks!
Did not heat up.The stackable were made from cheap plastic and does not snap together.Do not buy. I throw mine in the trash. It turns on to heat for 2min, shuts off before it is even warm at the bottom. After that, you cannot push the buttom to turn it on again. It JUST WON'T turn on. The top layer is NEVER heated. Let me repeat, the very bottom layet isn't even hot. It is lukewarm, then turns off. This is my first 1 star review being an Amazon customer amd buying online for 9 yrs. That is how badly this product sucks.

Good but fragile
There's no "fill line" for the water, so you'll probably overfill and it will leak water all over the floor. Worth it?Kinda yeah! It steams anything from rice, to vegis, meats, to even absurd things like cakes. I like to put rice in one compartment and vegi+meat and seasoning in another so the flavors soak into the vegis/meat. And it basically takes care of itself so you can go to work, plug it in, add the water, and go do whatever without worrying about it burning or what have. The handles on the top break off easily though, and the plug is very subject to wear and tear if you keep unplugging and replugging it.
