WOW!! I highly recommend this filter
I cannot say enough about the iSpring filter system I purchased (Well I am going to say a lot, sorry). I purchased the iSpring WSP50GR. I was a little apprehensive due to the low price, boy was I wrong! I moved to the mountains of Colorado from the suburbs. I now have a well and noticed when I moved in that there was fine black/tan particles in my toilet tanks. I also found the shower heads and sink strainers were partially plugged with the same sediment. Basically everything in the house had sediment in them causing low water pressure. I was also concerned about the amount that was getting into my drains and the possibility of them getting restricted flow. I did extensive research and found this filter system on Amazon. I installed it using shark bite connectors for the copper, thus no need to solder the fittings. It was an easy installation and I had immediate results that were amazing. After cleaning out all the strainers and even the toilet tanks, not my favorite part, everything was now flowing as it should with no sediment issues. It filters the large amount of sediment from my well so efficiently that I have to clean the screen every week, this is not difficult as it can be done in under 30 seconds. After about a year I wanted to replace the filter as I lean toward the OCD spectrum. I could not find the included wrench to change the filter. I emailed iSpring and received a quick response from Sean. He was more than willing to help me and sent me another wrench for free. Thanks again Sean! I would highly recommend this filter system for any use.

A company that cares
We have a lot of silt in our well water and bought this filter, along with others, to keep the silt out of our water fixtures, washing machine, toilet tanks, refrigerator water, etc. It's so nice to see how much of the grime the filter is actually catching but it does such a good job that I've had to remove the actual screen filter quite frequently to clean it. I called iSpring support and spoke to Nick about the issue. He said that they usually recommend the 100 micron screen over the 50 micron that my filter system came with for people that have wells rather than "city water." He's also sending me, free of charge, a 100 micron screen filter to replace the 50. So glad I went with iSpring. The filter system is sturdy, flexible, and seems well made. I highly recommend both the product, the company, and the support team.

heavy duty brass fittings
When I decided to replace my 19-year-old whole house filter (the handle was getting hard to turn), I added a pre-filter to the system. I did my research and landed on the iSpring WSP50GR spin-down filter. I chose this model because of the rotating head, although in hindsight it was not needed for my particular application and I could have done without it.The unit has a heavy-duty brass head, which has some heft to it, so I knew it would be able to take the 1" brass PEX fittings I wanted to use. The filter comes with a flimsy support bracket which is total garbage. The filter itself simply rests on top of the arms and is not positively attached to the bracket in any way. The arms of the bracket also interfered with the inlet/outlet fittings and ended up being thrown away.I didn't notice when I was researching the unit that the gauge measures water pressure in megapascals (mPa), not PSI (the one picture on Amazon of the gauge face is very small). mPa is the metric standard outside of the USA while PSI is the imperial standard used in the US. When I contacted customer service to inquire about obtaining a PSI gauge, I was told the unit only came with a mPa gauge. Undeterred, I thought I could just remove the white plastic cowling from the filter, unscrew the mPa gauge, and replace it with a 1/4" base glycerin-filled PSI gauge. Wrong! The pressure gauge included with this unit does not have a 1/4" base, it's smaller. So I was forced to reattach the mPa gauge and print out some conversion numbers so I would know what the PSI equivalent was.Overall, the unit seems sturdy and was easy to install. The bracket is garbage and the filter should come with a PSI pressure gauge, not mPa. Time will tell how it holds up to city water at approximately 67 PSI (or .45 mPa).

Easy to install with Sharkbite fittings
I picked up a couple of Sharkbite 3/4” male NPT fittings and a couple of 3/4” Sharkbite ball valves and finished the install in 15 minutes. Installation steps were...1. Turned off the main water supply.2. Opened the nearest faucet to drain as much water as possible.3. Cut the existing 3/4 copper pipe. Used a bucket to catch any residual water in the line.4. Teflon taped the MNPT fittings5. Decided that I didn’t need the supplied bracket to support the unit. I can install it later, if needed. Right now, the bracket holds the wrench.6. The unit allowed me to turn it 180° to match my water flow direction.7. Put it all together on the line.8. Turned the main back on along with the new valves.9. Recorded a baseline pressure/flow reading from the unit’s gauge to know when it’s time to flush and scrape it.10. Done!I debated which mesh, 50 micron or 100 micron, would be the best fit for my well water. Decided on the 100 micron. A few days after install I noticed that the mesh wasn’t catching a lot of material while my whole house filter down the line was getting slammed, so I emailed Don in customer service. He was responsive and professional, even during the holidays and the pandemic! He let me know that he was sending me out a 50 micron mesh to fix the problem. Great customer service, iSpring!I really like this spin down with built-in scraper unit although I wish I could have afforded the automatic one. I really don’t want my wife with her bad back having to go in to the crawl space to service the unit. Either way, I’m thinking about tying this in to my drain which is about 10 feet away. The 5 gallon bucket works fine, for now, though. Overall, I’m very happy with the product and the customer service.
