Just what I was looking for in a notebook at reasonable price
First, the limitations- ports. It has one each USB2, USB3, USBC, HDMI (full size) and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The USBC is the charging port. No ethernet jack or card reader. You can use a USB card reader for SD cards so I am not concerned about it. Who misses an ethernet port, esp outside of an office environment ? Not me.The notebook has great battery life. Period. Those getting less than 10 hours of "normal", meaning ordinary use need to tweak their settings. Just editing docs and navigating around the system (control panel, file explorer etc), it can get upwards of 15 hours ( I saw as much as 18 hours) ! Here are some tips- click the battery icon in the system tray and select "best battery life". For even better results, control panel->system->power->change plan settings->advanced . There you set the processor maximum to 60% on battery and 80% plugged in. You will rarely hear the fan come on, even when windows is updating. Even at 60%, the processor has plenty of power. You should always install a good ad blocker in browser. Adguard or ublock plus are good. This not only improves browser performance but also battery life. The notebook comes with almost vanilla Windows 10 home. PC manger can be removed as it offers little benefit. Huawei also installs their own drivers. Since I do not trust them, I reinstalled windows from a MS ISO download and in an update, windows installed the necessary drivers. Huawei claims that if you do that, it voids their warranty ! This confirms my reasons for NOT trusting them- they have spyware in their s/w and so strongly "discouraging" us from uninstalling them. To be fair, I reinstall windows for ALL PCs but others like HP or Lenovo don't complain. It is a basic notebook with touch screen. Good performance, fast boot and wake from sleep/hibernate. It does not have fingerprint reader or IR camera (it does have a HD webcam) - one of them is needed for windows hello. You may be able to add an external USB fingerprint reader to get hello working. It is only 12.7" wide and will fit into a bag designed for 13" notebooks. Audio is crisp and clear. The laptop looks great, is compact and great for school or home use. I especially liked this NB because it has a 14" screen in a 13" footprint !

Not bad for the price, a lot of cons
CONS-There was no fingerprint reader.. at all.-I got a faulty one that died really quick so I contacted customer support at the official website and they gave me great advice. I ended up gaining about 2 more hours. It lasts me about 5-6 hrs in total though. -The screen brightness isn't that bright at all.-I have to constantly be charging it.-I'm not a fan of how the fan turns on after a couple of minutes and stays on the entire time. Thankfully it's not too loud..-There is no DVD player...-The webcam isn't that great, it has a lot of noise and looks a little blurry.Pros:- I love the touchscreen, it's very useful.-The screen can bend backwards and align with the keyboard.-The volume noise on the speakers is decent, it's clear and loud but usually I reach for my earphones.-It looks like an apple knockoff but I appreciate having a windows laptop. It has better features than an apple laptop in my opinion.Overall you're better off spending more on the Huawei Matebook X Pro. I say I love it to my friends and family, but it comes with a lot of cons. The touchscreen is one of the only redeeming aspects of this laptop. At least I got it for $590 so that's not too shabby, I don't mind if it's around that price.

Awesome Powerful-beautiful Notebook at a great price - cannot wrong with this one
I had one of this Matebook D AMD Ryzen processor on my own mid 2018 and I loved it so much I bought 2 more 2018 christmas for my 2 high schoolers kids for $550 each ... Huaweii and AMD came up with an amazing product. Looks like they collaborated together to make a PC look like an Apple laptop. it is a great deal for a fantastic notebook that looks like a MacBook Pro, is as good as a Macbook Pro and 3 to 4 times cheaper. The look is great (I put it side by side with my wife's Mackbook pro and many times I mix them up ... ) the touchscreen is great, the battery life is great, work all day on battery and just charge it at night, like you would do with your cell phone. the touchpad is very very soft and works great. the brightness of the screen is astonishing (very clear, very crisp). it is very portable, the right size and weight you need to go from place to place. The aluminium finish case is very well built and sturdy. My 2 high schoolers have been using it very extensively for almost 1 year and they have not had any single problem. Myself, after 1 and half year using it, I still love it. for $550, I could not make a better choice.

Great laptop for price
After my 2015 Macbook Air logic board fried randomly with estimated repair costs over $500, I needed an affordable replacement. My friend has the Matebook Pro and highly recommended Huawei. After extensive research comparing the Lenovo Yoga, HP Spectre and this guy, I took the plunge and couldn't be happier. I got this laptop a few days before Thanksgiving and have been using it daily since... As a medical student, I don't need much computing power per se but this is more than enough. I honestly haven't used a Windows computer and was religiously Mac for the past 7 years... so I did have to learn the weird nuances of Windows 10, but overall, very solid computer. This one doesn't come with the typical bloat ware I recall previous laptops having and set up was a breeze. The battery life is also very good, I can charge it up for the day and heavily be using it all day in class and get minimum 8-10 hours of usage off the charge. It handles very graphic intensive Powerpoint slides along with multiple browser tabs open + whatever other PDF or Word documents I'm reading and doesn't lag at all. The touchscreen is also great for quickly highlighting info on slides. If you're a student on a budget would highly recommend this laptop!

decent - quite static noise only problem
pros: Price for spec and design.cons: cheap components and noise. Minor stuff like keyboard lighting turning off after a bit, fn button lightingWhat is mean by components is that this laptop makes static noise from left side, I think mobo or battery side. Static noise which is only audible if your ear is like 20 cm away from the left side of keyboard.Compared to to my old mac book air 2013, I can feel the quality is not quite there in other aspects as well. But other than the fine tuning. This is a really good laptop. take away the very minor noise and some user friendly problems, very good laptop.
