Does the pan sold have the old or new type of fitting?

It fitted my bread maker BM450 which was the same.

How does this work? Do you need a machine to go with the pan or is it just into the oven or something?

Yes you need a bread maker machine, I have a Kenwood BM450. My pan needed replacing as it was slipping. The pan locks into the bread maker on the base and this turns the paddle which makes the dough. The paddle does not come with it but I had the original.
