Great egg piercing gadget
This is a simple design but effective. It punctures a tiny little hole at the bottom of the egg. It's very easy to use. This helps when peeling the egg after hard boiling. Takes a second to wash up. My favourite feature is that it has a magnet attached so I cam put it on my fridge and it never gets lost!

It works great. And yes it made a hole the first time
ONLY PUNCH ONE HOLE. Twice and the egg will shatter. These work great though. As someone who likes to make deviled eggs and has done every method you can think of for shelling and still manages to destroy about a third of the eggs this thing is a life saver, perfect eggs peeled every time. Provided you don't press this bad boy into a shell twice before you cook them.

It works great!
It appears to work just fine. I purchased because I was eating a lot of hard boiled eggs, now I’ve been on a sunny side up kick. I have fresh eggs and that little hole makes a prettier egg.

Works Very Well
I lost the pick for my electric egg cooker. I tried various pins to puncture the eggs before cooking. Nothing worked well. This item is easy to use and sturdy. Also, easy to find in a cluttered cabinet.

Great gadget
Wouldn't hard boil eggs ever again without one of these! My sister showed it to me and have loved it ever since.

So much easier to peel now
I got fed up with mixed reports about the best way to boil eggs and have them peel easy. I've tried several methods (adding to boiling vs cold water, soak after in ice bath vs peel immediately) and none of them are consistent at keeping the shell from sticking like a barnacle and shredding the egg as you remove it. I finally saw an egg piercer mentioned and thought "fine, for under $10 i'll give it a shot" and praise that recommendation! It's not perfect every single time, but if you get a solid pierce into the base of the egg prior to dropping into boiling water, the water creeps up between the egg membrane and the shell and makes peeling substantially easier. The piercer doesn't get any moisture on it, just chalky egg shell, so cleaning isn't an issue like I feared it might be. Thank you for this simple, helpful tool.

Works better on thin shelled eggs
I live to pierce my shells before boiling eggs as they peel easier. This device does not quite pierce all the way through the natural pasture raised egg shells and I sometimes have to use a secondary item such as a needle to push through.
