can these be used for a bookcase without feet? I have a bookcase that is just a straight across the bottom construction, doesn’t have legs.

Yes.. I used them in my dining room table that did not have feet to raise it up so bottom of table wouldn’t hit my knees .. my husband had to pre drill holes into table legs then we screwed these into the hole

Can these be used for outdoor wood furniture?

Yes! I used them to level a large wooden patio table. The patio was sloped to enable good drainage and they worked very well for this purpose.

Are these safe for outside use?

Are you expecting them to melt away? They are black so must be anodized or black zinc coated and will probably not rust either. Where does "safety" come into this?

What size is the nut?

Assuming you mean the adjustment hex portion of the leveler (there is no "lock nut"), it is 1/2", which is 13mm otherwise. The leveler can be a bit sloppy and rock some but I do not know the thread size or type (SAE/metric), did not need to. Was not a problem for me - I just drilled the hole first 11/32" x 1.5" deep (can be less if the leveler is used extended), then redrilled 1/2"D x 7/16" deep for the "T nut" you see pictured. The deeper, smaller hole is just right (at least in soft pine) to act as a lock and steadier.

Strong, easy solution for my problem.

Just drilled and hammered the insert into the table leg.We ordered a table for our patio. The table was too short to allow the umbrella base to fit under the table, but only by 1”. These adjustable feet were the perfect solution. 3/8-16 tpi if you were wondering. I added counter nuts to allow for permanent adjustment control.Excellent value for the quality and F A S T delivery.

Durable and strong.

Durable and strong metal. Easy instruction and nice that they are adjustable. Make sure you measure the base of the legs of the furniture you are planning on installing these to. The metal anchors are thicker than the adjustable legs that screw in them.
