The width of our ramp is about 5.5".

Piece of crap!! Missing parts. I spent $25 in stainless bolts that were missing and I installed it on my truck in the very next day it had rust on it!!!! Got my money back.

What is distance from the center of the carrier rail to the hitch pin?

The distance is dependent on the type of vehicle you have, but for the most part, it is about 15.75" from the hitch pin to the center of the carrier. We hope this helps answer your question.
