I bought NHL Monopoly for my son, thinking it would be a fun, wholesome way to spend time together. What I didn't expect was for it to awaken my inner NHL General Manager like I was about to make a blockbuster trade at the deadline.Within minutes of setting up the board, I was negotiating property trades like I was working the phones with 31 other GMs. My son wanted Montreal? Fine. But I wanted Toronto, two railroads, and future snack considerations. No deal? Bench him.We’ve had an amazing time playing. I’ve never seen my son so invested in board game negotiations—or so disappointed when I charged him $1400 in rent on a fully stacked Calgary with hotels. Welcome to the big leagues, kid.Each game has felt like a playoff series. There’s strategy, tension, and occasional yelling about "terrible officiating" when someone lands in jail. We have regular junior monopoly, this one is not as short and concise. Still fun but be prepared to invest a little more time!
