Q: My boyfriend is a mechanic and always breaking his tools. Would these be durable for a mechanic to use everyday?

I was a millwright for 39 years in a paper mill. Had a set of Protos and Craftmans, the Craftmans stood up as well as the Protos and were much cheaper and easier to replace. It's been my experience that you'll lose far, far more wrenches than you'll ever break. If you want him to have a show piece, buy him Mac, Snap-On, or Proto. If it's for everyday use, there is nothing wrong with Craftsman. My 39 years of experience and my some 150 fellow mechanics say they stand up as well as the Big price tools.

yes, all the tools are held in the case securely and it is pretty nice, no the sockets are not marked for size, and have to be remembered by the next size up or down! This is my second similar box in 15 years, love it
