Pros:price,lightweight,plastic and reasonably durable,photographs great,you can take it apart making it easier to transport/carrycons:mine took a while to ship,height (I'm 5 foot 7 inches and it be perfect for ME if I were one foot shorter. But this was the best looking one I could find online, AND they all seemed to be around the same height).more info:This is a costume prop. So I wasn't expecting real scythe perfection. But this looks pretty good live in person and photographs very well. And that was my purpose for this item. I used it for a photo session. I had to carry all my props and camera gear down the trail of cliffy beach. I carried it disassembled in the plastic bag it came in over rock cliffs. Where it banged into rocks, branches, and I even threw it five feet down so I could hold onto the cliff walls with my hands. It held up fine.The plastic wood staff has a bit of a shine/sheen to it. If that will bother you an easy fix is to get some matte sealer/varnish and give it a quick thin coat. I was initially worried this would be an issue for me in my photos. But was a non-issue for me.Another reviewer mentioned holes drilled into the staff. And yes mine has a couple small holes. They aren't sharp. They are perfectly smooth. And make it so you can thread cord or twine through it and tie the staff up to something, like if you are decorating with it. On my staff you can only notice those holes if you are super upclose to it, like you're the one holding it close.

If you’re looking for a really good looking scythe without the need of painting, your search is done!Starting with the physical features, it’s 6’0 tall. I’m 5’4-5’5 so the scythe hits right below my eyes. The scythe comes in three parts: 1 head and 2 rods. It’s completely flexible for an adult and children. It’s also easy to screw in and screw out. I never experience a time when the rods loosens itself or break. Although it’s made of plastic, it’s not fragile (as long you’re not using it to hit things with heavy impact). I had fun twirling it around all day.The details on the rod is really unique compare to most scythes sold in Halloween stores I’ve seen. Other than the twisty texture, faces of ghosts are embedded into the rods as if they’re part of the tree texture.Now some people are concerned of 2 pair of holes (front and back) on the rods. These are meant for you to loop a STRAP through it so you can carry the scythe on your back! Straps aren’t included to the item, but they’re not hard to find at all. You can find scraps of fabric at the Walmart’s fabric section for no more than $5.My experience was really awesome. I underestimated how cool it looked until I started walking around with it during Halloween. I had a lot of compliments and stares. People asked me to take a picture of them holding my scythe and where I got it.

The media could not be loaded. This is pretty good scythe, it's a bit more scary looking, perfect for my son's realistic and scary Reaper costume. I was looking for something with better, more realistic detail, and a more complete and detailed paint job as well, and this fit the bill. In my photos and video you can see they REALLY put extra care into the details on the staff as well, there are little faces carved into the "wood" all along and up and down the staff. The metal blade has a detailed paint job as well, it looks great for right out of the box.It does screw together, you screw the pieces into each other, it's all plastic and easily assembles. However mine isn't screwing together very flush with each piece, causing it to be wobbly and not very sturdy, I may have to order a replacement and return this one. Also the way it bends at the end is a bit awkward and seemed like it may give issues while walking around with it, not super stable because of that feature either, but every scythe I have ordered had a bend and this one is the most straight at the end.I would suggest it gets redesigned with a straighter bend at the end.Not bad for the price though if this is something you're looking for, it's a decent height at 5 feet, and doesn't weigh much at all. I like it a lot, and I would probably order this again if it proves to hold up well.

Good height, good look, a little on the flimsy side. This is not super sturdy - its hollow thin plastic - i expected a little nicer for the price - or at least for it to have been less expensive.

It’s doesn’t stick so good together but looks very nice and for the price it’s good enough

The grim reaper sickle looks actually very good only thing is the box was destroyed that it came in UPS must have handled it very roughly looks like they have dropped it ran over it kicked it and body slammed it but the content inside wasn't damaged surprisingly
