Easy to use, produces a great product
Have had this for a while but just got round to using it. I made some sauerkraut and decided to ferment it in the e-jen. I didn't need to stuff a jar and tamp it down, there was no need to cover the cabbage with a large cabbage leaf or bags of water to keep the cabbage under the liquid. The inner lid creates an air tight seal and the outer lid keeps the smells in. The cabbage fermented quite quickly and after only a few days I put the whole box in the fridge. It is quite expensive but overall I would say it is worth it.

Second time buying
My second buy. The last one works a treat good size for a family of 3 two in rotation works. Tip if you want to see what happens inside get the clear one. Good quality. Wish was cheaper. Lighter than glass jars. I use sterilisation fluid to clean, which works for me.

A bit smelly still, but stores nicely
I have stored my bag kimchi in here, followed the steps to plug the whole and make sure the seal is tight, there's a slight garlic smell in the fridge still, it isn't completely air tight I suppose, but it's a great idea

Great for making kimchi
A friend recommended this because I make kimchi regularly. This 3lt size fits my small fridge nicely.I used 5 Chinese leaves (regular supermarket size) to make kimchi and they fit nicely in this container.Taken one star off because of the high price, but apart from that I would recommend this for kimchi makers.

Not earthenware
I bought a 3.9L version. Just about the right size, but definitely NOT earthenware (other than the colour). It is all plastic and so, very expensive for what it is. The design is not bad, but the inside vacuum plate (plastic) and stopper look to me as though they won't last very long. I'm not sure, as I haven't used it yet, whether the salt in the fermenting process will damage the plastic, or whether it is even a good idea to ferment in plastic. If I have to replace it any time I will definitely go for ceramic or glass.
