Q: Is this yarn soft or kind of rigid?

It feels soft, but it is a sturdy weight yarn. It's not as thin and silky as the Red Heart Soft. It's not as stiff feeling as the Super Saver. I like it for afghans.

I can't see why not. The tight twist should hold up well to the looming hook.
